Sorry, have you a bible not from 1890 you can quote from?

"Fighting alongside them" is a complete nonsense. It's not our war, doing so would immediately escalate this to the whole of NATO and then to the whole developed world, with a madman in charge of one side's nuclear and chemical weaponry. It wouldn't actually achieve any kind of desirable outcome.
I didn't say that we were sitting idly by. I said we're not doing enough! Putin needs putting down like the mad dog he is - this has to be done by a multi-national force so that he and every other future dictator are aware of what happens when they enter into global expansion.

        YMMV.

So your answer to a failed annexation of a non-NATO country is for NATO to invade Russia and assassinate its head of state. And that is a good idea how, exactly.

Put it another way; what would be Russia's and other similarly powerful countries' response if NATO did that.

Any such action would have to be via the United Nations, and at least three Security Council members would veto that immediately.

I think you need to stick to your war comics.

It's rare, but for once i agree with you. We've stood by and let Putin once again carry out a scorched earth policy. He knows the West is weak and so he can do whatever he likes. We should have imposed a no fly zone over the Ukraine and taken the risk; Putin is a bully and needed his nose blooded.

I wouldn't say weak, I'd say extremely cautious.

It would be high stakes calling the bluff of a reckless dictator who's holding a massive arsenal of nukes.
