From the book thing:
Amateurs! There's been books in here that were bought 20 years before & then read.
However that doesn't apply to that Peston POS I'm reading at the moment....Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 17 August 2026, 15:20.

It was rit in 2007, preface from 2008. Seems to think that Philip "BHS" Green was the next best thing to sliced bread.
Subsequent events proved this belief erroneous.

Most of the time it's only TPD that gets much in the way of posts & even then it's not many compared with the Glory Days.

All I saw in Cheltenham in 1999 was the 10 10ths cloud cover. It went dark & that was it.
This one was better since the sky was unexpectedly clear: WTAF? it's an astronomical thing & I can actually see it? Well I never did.
The welding shield worked ok: her next door...

Great discussions on reddit on whether it's safe to view through two #10 welding filters.
One is definitely not dark enough, two seems fine.
Three and it's "where the feck has the sun gone?".

Blue sky clear as a bell. Should be 10 10ths cloud cover by 1800 since there's something going on in the sky.

Done: off to Oxfam with it. Mind numbingly tedious. I won't be searching for the 2nd edition which no doubt explains how the Septics failed to prevent NK developing what may be a thermonuke & failed to prevent Eyeran producing 60% enriched uranium. But there you go, the Orange Mother****er has done...Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 12 August 2026, 17:01.
