Tonight's Korean movie premiere was the sequel to Train to Busan, Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula (2020), which seems a bit laboured because that's the long-winded way the title is presented on IMDb, but on the title screen it's just called Peninsula (in Korean), while IMDb also claims that its original...

You'll be able to tell the Scots you've had both jabs, which might just save you from being seized at the border and thrown into a compound on Gruinard ...

Walk briskly walked, green and red rings closed

Very nice out; a bit warmer than it needs to be, but I daresay it won't last

Right, that's me knocked off for the weekend

I still haven't got rid of the dead code, but that can wait until Monday morning

And then there was the "Well, actually, could you…" bit which it was then conceded wasn't actually required for going...

I think the root of the GDS problem was that I didn't realise what a nightmare it would be to implement until it came time to do, and just before that, the designer who'd had the bright idea had moved to another project and another designer who'd had nothing to do with it had just joined. He hadn't...

Lunch: no time for lunch as I needed to go to the self-storage place and sort out the paperwork. I'll grab another bit of toast shortly

Also, the car's battery was flat

Not sure if it's a parasitic drain that only happens sometimes, in which case it'll...

Me, weeks ago: "We shouldn't really do it that way, it's against GDS guidelines and it also makes the whole thing vastly more complicated."

It was decided we'd do it that way

Them, today: "We shouldn't really do it that way, it's against GDS guidelines....

    Morning denizens

Another grey 17°C start, with a high of 21°C expected and a small risk of sunshine mid-evening; barometers showing 1010/1018mB, so down but not to any meaningful degree - about 1mB IIRC

Further viewing was S7E5 of Hospital covering the appalling state of mental health provision along with a bit of bone sawing for light relief

    Friday tomorrow!

    Goodnight all

I was thinking of popping up to Sainsbury's but on reflection, I don't really need anything. If I change my mind, I'll pop up tomorrow instead

I'm sorting out a self-storage unit for a while, not just because of the whole central heating malarkey but also because I figure moving the boxes out and then dealing with them (i.e. deciding that 90% of the contents are junk and should be disposed of) one at a time will be less overwhelming than trying...

Roast pork and apple sauce bap (wholemeal) for lunch

The neighbours hadn't filled the recycling bin this week, so I was able to get rid of my own normal recycling then cram the remaining Ikea packaging into the top

And then it really was full, so that's been trundled...

The Register were always very scathing about Kevin Warwick back then. They reckoned he was a publicity-chaser and took to calling him "Captain Cyborg"

You'll almost certainly find everything you need in d3.js

Have a play with it at Observable - loads of examples, plus you can create your own notebooks to experiment with stuff. It allows you to mix text and live code, similar to Jupyter Notebooks for Python. There are more examples...

  • Git is a complete pain, yet also excellent for the purposes it serves

One useful resource is Oh tulip, Git!?! (I had to link to the SFW version "Dang it, Git!?!" as the naughty words filter broke the URL) which explains how to get yourself out of numerous common situations....
