Tea has been one of those thick-cut ribeye steaks with the usual chips, fried onions and beans

Accompanied by a recent episode of Trucking Hell

The car earlier was a Chevrolet LUV pickup truck, which it turns out is a rebadged Isuzu. USA show of course, so no...

Washed some jumpers, some of which will be going to the Oxfam recycling, some of which will be keeping me warm

And I also remembered to submit the meter readings ahead of tomorrow's price rise

I'm looking forward to getting in the new flat and having central heating....

Observation of the chestnut tree leads me to believe that it's very windy here too

The dentist texted to cancel my forthcoming appointment two weeks from now. I phoned them up to find out what they were playing at this time, and they explained that one of the dentists had left...

It's raining here now, and is likely to continue along those lines into the evening

The survey on the new flat just came through. As expected, nothing of note is said because there's nothing wrong with the place. The valuation is exactly the same as what I'm paying, with a list of...

More confusion over dates at the consultancy on the fortnightly Teams call

AFAIK, and also AFA the agency knows and have therefore put in my contract, I finish on the 13th. That's also what the department thinks. But the consultancy have it down as the 14th

Lunch has been chicken and barley soup

No bread, as when I made this batch I couldn't remember how much barley I usually chucked in and ended up using way too much. So it's extremely filling just on its own

I'm weekly too - much better

The biggest pitfall for me is that the agency timesheet is in days, whereas the consultancy one is in hours. Once again I came within a whisper of submitting a timesheet showing one hour a day for the week, and when I do that I have to email somebody, then...

The general waste bins had been emptied, so the two of ours that I'd put out have been safely corralled in the back yard again

Still pretty smelly. They could do with being washed out, but I shall leave that task to somebody else

    Morning denizens

Grey start out (notionally "foggy"), and a bit chilly at 7°C with 15° possible later. The barometers are back up a bit though, at 999/1007mB

I came in the back way last night (it's easier for cab drivers to set one down on the side...

Tea was cooked chicken thighs from M&S Simply Food at St. Pancras, which I brought home and heated up with some chips

And that was accompanied by the latest episode of Ambulance on iPlayer

My Apple Watch has been bursting with excitement today. Apparently...

    Home again!

Just got to wait for the Covid to develop now

    They got me a card

Hope that isn't an Inside-IR35 indication

Sausage update: the Lincolnshire sausages in the EMR breakfast roll, free to first class passengers on earlyish trains, are pretty good actually

    Morning denizens

Grey start out, though the overnight showers have allegedly stopped now. Currently 10°C with a possible 16°, and the barometers are trivially up at 994/1001mB. London later is forecast to be a bit brighter and one degree warmer

Tonight's car was a Volvo PV544. In the USA again, so no idea what's become of it since.

More opal hunters began their seasons, with some of them getting off to a good start again

And food was accompanied by the remainder of the new Police Interceptors I started the other...

Tea: sausage and onion casserole with chips and peas. Very nice, made with rather peppery sausages so it had a bit of a kick
