If you genuinely think that *everyone* in Ukraine wants to come here, then you are a prize idiot. A lot will want to stay closer to home, of course they would. But quite a few have ties to the UK so why would you not make them welcome?

Priti Awful was doing a fine scaremongering job by saying there's 44 million people in Ukraine and we can't accommodate them all. There is no way all 44 million are going to rock up asking for help. A couple of hundred thousand is my guess.

But remember, 80 million Turks are coming here too, along with 1.2 billion on the continent of Africa, etc. (Or the population of Sheffield every 24 hours, or whatever that stat was that the far right used to Trump out)

When there's trouble somewhere overseas, the first thing the Foreign Secretary should do is call for a map, to find out where it is!

It's an age old tradition. Everyone knows that!

It even features on Yes, Prime Minister (someone shared a clip of that recently)

            Yep,

“we are supplying and offering extra support into our Baltic allies across the Black Sea”.
            Also,

Lavarov then asked ... ‘Do you recognise Russia’s sovereignty over the Rostov and Voronezh regions?’ At which point Truss mounted her high horse and responded with all the authority of the UK’s chief diplomat: ‘The UK will never recognise Russia’s sovereignty over these regions.’

This is where the UK’s ambassador to Moscow, Deborah Bronnert, is said to have leant across to Truss and discreetly informed her that these regions were actually in Russia.

Maybe it would be easier to narrow it down to identical twin siblings!

Swiss adopt EU sanctions on Russia; lots of dodgy Russian money in Switzerland, so that will hopefully hurt.
