Dinner is prepped, a variation on Ottolenghi chicken with preserved lemons. Seed bread is prepped, to go in the oven at the same time as the chicken tagine.
Last night’s film entertainment was “Don’t Look Up” from five years ago. Funny, but also a lot of similarities to US politics right...
Morning all
Misty and drizzling, it appears that the heaviest rain has been while I was asleep. The morning walk will wait about an hour to see if this clears.
Things that make a difference:
1. What country is the contract from (I did quite a bit of work in Europe on Swiss contracts)
2. What country is the work going to be done? (You may say it’s WFH, but is there any on-site expected?)
3. What currency will you be raising the invoices...
Drove to Canada today and got home with still over 120 miles range, possibly helped by putting the car into self drive mode (except you can’t call it that, and you can’t let go of the steering wheel for more than 15 seconds, but there’s no need to steer, speed up or slow down, the car does it all....

Sunshine and some blue skies out, for a change.
A very loud squall blew through about 21:00 yesterday, for a moment I thought it was a Chinook landing on the roof of the house.
Must fill the bid feeders today.
It's what you voted for, you are completely in agreement with "the self-appointed Brussels bureaucracy".

The fact that higher house prices pushes those renting or wanting to get on the property ladder into debt or...
Walk was successfully accomplished in the dry. There's a slither of sunshine below some very dark clouds the look like the amber warning may be coming into force before its current 3pm time.
Bumped into the plumber while out walking. He was telling me that during the worst of the weather on Monday...
Good. Maybe contractors will get back to doing a professional working day for each client, rather than billing multiple clients for doing very little. Gives the rest of us a bad name....
Not sure what planet you are on, I did not say it was free, but I DO know the answer as to the capex costs to the host and the opex costs to the end client, and it’s NOT heavily subsidised.
I gave the example of John Lewis, because I thought it would be something people could relate to. I would...
Exactly this. I was using an NLQ tool recently that creates queries on relational databases. It was at the level of me asking John Lewis "How much more has my wife spent on cheese in Waitrose in 2025 compared to the previous year?"
It would happily join multiple tables to run simple...
OK, plan B is finally coming to fruition, I can officially announce that I'm setting up my own ballet company.
We're starting off small, and our fist production is going to be a low budget version of Swan Lake. We're calling it Toilet Duck.
