Life expectancy is increasing, and family units are a thing of the past. A civilised society has to pay for the privilege of being a civilised society. For those that don't want to pay tax/NI/etc when they work, then they start whining about paying tax on the purchases that they can't put through their...

The walk started with light sleet, then about 200 metres from our house that turned to heavier sleet and then snow.
Snowing quite hard now.

Almost went apex going out for our walk this morning, then found that one of our gates had frozen shut so I had to go the long way round the house to get through a different one.

Equally, if you want your customers to have money to be able to spend with you, they need to earn enough to be able to do that.
Why should shops/restaurants/etc pay staff a wage that means they can afford to live? The staff should get 20p a day and be glad. In my day 20p would get you a...

Early walk in very blustery conditions, but quite mild. Right coat was worn for the wind and light rain, but totally the wrong one for the warmth (11C)
