Well, we need to compare figures when looking at a 3rd currency, if you’re only looking at one side of transactions. If you are exporting/importing then exchange rates have a big impact.
April 2018 £1 = $1.43
April 2022 £1 = $1.24
So if the local currency has dropped 13%...

So, you disagree that the pound collapsing 23% against the dollar has anything to do with it?
Wow.
A barrel of oil was £69.015 in August 2013 (based on your figures)
Today, it’s £83.846, again based on your figures.
And you’re denying that £14.831...

Yes, oil prices.
The price of oil is lower now than it was a few years ago, when petrol was £1.50 a litre. But the price of oil is in dollars and since Brexit, the exchange rate has changed. Nothing to do with your belief that everything can be blamed on Covid and Boris’ paymasters invading...

When most Wail readers were studying the War Poets, it was only 50 years since the end of the Great War. That would be the equivalent today of a pupil studying Bohemian Rhapsody, The Wall and Let It Be.
I realise...

He never even visited Wakefield, and only briefly visited Tiverton. The Tory party did not do door-to-door work or debates (apart from one), instead relying on leaflets and “always vote Tory”.
The electorate aren’t always the mugs that the government think they are.

And when that is offered, you can blame people for being too lazy to do the job…
Except the people who could do the job and pay tax on their earnings are being held in camps pending deportation to Rwanda.
Why now let immigrants do the jobs? If we’ve got 1.3million vacancies, why...

Illegal immigrant slams English literature, and the Wail is supporting him.
Next they’ll be saying that it’s someone else’s fault for the last 12 years of government, apart from the government.

Relatively enjoyable day with my dad. Going somewhere a bit nice tomorrow. We’ll see how much he complains.
