Ch4 News interviewed people on the street in Clacton yesterday and virtually all supported Farage. A bit like Trump's MAGA lot, they don't seem to care what he does.

Most couldn't see what all the fuss was about; some remarked (about politicians) that they're all at it.

Thank god a GE is still 3 years away.

The Raving Monster Loony party have been asked not to field candidates, so as not to split the Bin Vote.

It's a win win really. If Count Binface wins it, Frogface's political career is finished. If Frogface wins it, it'll hardly be a resounding victory or "two fingers up to the establishment", and he'll still have to answer questions about his £5M.

What would the turnout be if there's another by-election in a few months?

Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

I wonder how many folks in Clacton dislike him enough to get out and vote? It might motivate some (eg. young people) who normally CBA.

The beauty of it is, by voting for Bin Face, you can stick two fingers up to Farage and the establishment.

His party have offered to pay the cost of the election, because that would be a good bit of publicity. How about the party owners and leaders pay their fair share of tax, rather than running multiple companies on and off shore to avoid it as much as possible. I'm sure if Mr Tice didn't have funds going to Dubai and run his property empire from Jersey via a trust, etc, their taxes would easily cover it.

I would like to see a right-of-centre party that is not the Tory party (who can feck right off) with a credible plan for gov't, but the Farage clownshoe is definitely not that thing, just as the Polanski clownshoe is not that thing for lefties. Farage is a good campaigner, but just doesn't have the judgement, as this episode reveals, and the Trumpian style BS that is creeping into our politics won't attract British voters, regardless of what the polls currently say (people really only pay attention near to elections - at this stage, polls are only good for sticking two fingers up). This is a total lose-lose for Farage, although I expect he will probably trounce Binface (would be hilarious if he didn't, I agree). Question is what comes after Reform and will it be vaguely credible - again, the Tories can feck right off - I am not tremendously hopeful once the Burnham car crash inevitably ensues.
