Telly, after Monkey Life, was more Traffic Cops

Tonight was the last two episodes of the new season of Monkey Life. At twenty episodes and two a week, that means it must be ten weeks since it started. Where did all that time go?

It's a nice change not to have to get up for work tomorrow. Maybe it'll make time go a bit slower

    Goodnight all

        Morning.

        Damp.

        No current precipitation.

        Blue sky with white clouds.

Chilly at 16.8 deg in here.

        1003.5 mBar, 29.633 in Hg, 752.68 Torr, 74% RH.

        Monday.

Irritation levels quite high judging by the cleanliness of the telex machine.

        Raining now. A lot

Walk (abbreviated) walked during which it pissed down with a vengeance but I managed to remain reasonably dry by sheltering a bit here & there.

Here was more effective than there, but they both helped a bit.

        Trip to B&Q.

By the time I'd found the stuff I was looking for, I was hopping about with my legs crossed, busting for a pee.

Lunch: scrambled egg and poached tomato x 1.5 on Morrisons wholemeal sunflower & spelt toasted crust, bramble jelly sandwich on same, yellow corner yog, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

        Entertainment: NZ Border Patrol.

Now wonder the bag's not opening, the bag doesn't belong to him

Oh lovely. NZ scumbag with kiddy porn.

For which said scumbag got 6 months home detention, with a further 6 months supervision.

Oh, jolly good, the shelf supports I bought from B&Q are completely & utterly incompatible with the uprights screwed to the wall of the garage.

        Who'd have thunk it?

        They'll go back tomorrow.

Which has scuppered my intention of completing the shelving this afternoon. Ho hum.

Powered up the garage and nothing went bang, sot that's good.

Most of the lights still seem to work despite them being unused for nigh on 3 years.

The remote control set of lights work too, but the video system appears to be screwed and not in a good way.

Two cameras sort of work but it's fuzzy beyond belief and one of the old tellies I connect up this end promptly died.

They don't make stuff to last any more, it's only 30 years old.

It may meet the recycling bin down at the dump.

Tea: more of the roast chicken & sausage, dunno what these sausages were but they're very nice, some pear halves, a yog or two, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Entertainment: Discovering Cary Grant, or Archie Leach as he once was.

Joy of Painting. Had its usual effect.

Oak Island nutjobbery: S8 E5: "The Master Plan".

        NCIS S17 E13 "Sound Off".

In other news, it's pissing down, with, so far as I understand it, no intention of stopping this side of Noah's Ark.

          Morning all

Clear blue sky but the ground shows signs of early morning rain. No precipitation at present. Currently 12 degrees with a high of 16 forecast. Rain expected this afternoon. Barometer up to 1009 mBar.

Odd night's sleep, peculiar dreams that I can't quite recall now. Much coffee needed.

          Today's Kantar diary fact is:
First meeting of the 'Boys' Brigade' founded by Willian Smith, is held in Glasgow, Scotland 1883

            Morning denizens

Bit of mixed bag of a night's sleep: seemed to take ages to get settled, but slept well towards morning

It's a sunny day out, though not very warm: 11°C at the moment, chase of 14° later, but also getting cloudier with a chance of showers around 70% mid afternoon. Barometers up a bit more at 998/1006mB. Looks like the rain will be settling in for the long haul from evening onwards

So the civil service have known that X people will be starting in X offices today for about 4 months.

None of the offices have welcome packs and laptops for the new starters...

Upside it's special leave (paid but not counted as holidays) from Wednesday until the laptops arrive.

Darn it. Like to get out in the sun but hanging about waiting for delivery of my new mobile phone, should have been here half ago.

Correction, it's special leave from now as there was nothing for her to do.
