I can understand claiming via business, but not SA, else using an umbrella wouldn't be as big a bind as people claim.

Maybe I need to investigate what I can claim as a permie a bit more closely.
It could be worth a look. It's not normally an issue for most permies as they get all their expenses paid for usually.

My other half is a teacher and they often spend their own money on stationary, materials, mileage and professional subscriptions that the schools just won't expense. Some company (I forget their name) contacts all the teachers every few years and get's them to submit everything they've not been about to expense and get's them a rebate. It's a bit of a rip of as they obviously charge but it's a welcome bonus as Teachers general don't want to do SA's

It sounds like it's anything we can claim as a business expense that you don't expense via your employer.

    I think this explains it.

Me too, but mine is rather more likely to be postal.

This morning I've been asked to connect up PLCs in a lab I've never worked in & know nothing about.

So I've spent half an hour in there & then come back in here to do sommat more interesting.

        Bit late to work today

        Manchester is grey and overcast

        As you would expect.

Plenty of breaks in the sky over the south Lancashire plains. Distinctly greyer towards Cheshire and the Pennines.
Not much breeze, though, so nice and warm for the time of year.
