That's a very sweeping statement backed up with zero facts and figures if you don't mind me saying. Bunging an unqualified statement like that out there just opens a can of worms and will lead to an endless discussion no one wins.
Let me throw one out. Yes they do, they top all the charts,...

Good find that. What I can't see though is what their limitations are. Cant remember which banks stipulated what but some wouldnt entertain you if there were less than 6 months left on the contract and another didn't allow any breaks in the previous two years or something. Wonder what Halifax's is....

Bearing in mind you posted this twice maybe it's because us 50 year olds are getting a bit doddery and forgetful ...

Didn't read your post in detail but it's exactly the same question d000hg asked not so long ago. Thread is here.

My answer would be the same. Go for it. Check out the worst that could happen and try come up with an exit plan should...

He's getting the quality of response that he's paying for to be fair.
But if there were any benefits we'd generally all know and it would be standard practice. Anything hooky, grey or super clever then he needs to be speaking to a professional....

Ah in that case yes it's the go to one. When you said ad-hoc work I thought you meant delivering a package in your own time rather than ad-hoc contractor type pieces of work. You might need deliver/payment milestones and warranties on work etc that we generally don't.
So yeah, can't do...

Yeah the QDOS one is usually my go to for these questions but it's more a standard contracting one which I didn't think you wanted sorry....

It's well documented that relevant life policies that are held by the company are tax deductable.

Can't help if it's not a standard contracting one but you could look through all the previous requests to see if something helps. Put the following in to google.

He does. He keeps ringning me in a bit of a froth about about it and we'll chat for awhile. I'll give him a load of advice about who's the root of the problem but he never seems to take my ideas on board and ends the calls saying I just don't get it or something. Very strange....

Haven't read the full thread so might be throwing myself straight in to the firing line but I do find it disappointing the fact that there is such strong opinion over the flags, whichever one you prefer to fly. The article one one in eight Labour voters finding it offense is a bit shocking and I'm really...

I've got a potentially lucrative gig providing quality and valuable content to CUK to keep the forum busy and relevant. Although I must say working B2B is right pain in the arse. I heard payment cycles can be very long much longer that via an agent but Admin hasn't responded to a single sent invoice...

This. It's not hard. There is a very simple term that Mal mentions that covers 99% of it. For example ' I attend with my family a gym'. Wholly and exclusive? No. Done.
Life insurance is the same. Its you personally, not the job. Just apply to basic rules first and you'll have your answers.....

Remember he's an agent, maybe with a sharper suit on, but an agent still the same. Wouldn't trust him as far as I can throw him....

Nope, I know very few contractors that used the flexibility to have much time off. I've met a lot that have wound down, finished early or have expensive hobbies in their later years though. So very few people taking breaks but plenty working a pot up enjoying it later.
Even in the good...

Was getting on their PSL even an option? It's highly unlikely a client will onboard a one man contractor LTD. Much more likely to put you through an agent....

The last few pairs I've had were Karrimor's as well and I thought it was just me as I'd noticed this as well but that said I keep an eye on the sales/discounts and just happy to get a pair when the price is right and turn them over a bit quicker than I might have in the old days. Cheap enough not to...

Not a bad idea to start getting your ducks in a row I guess but I wouldn't worry too much at this point for two reasons. One is UAE work is difficult to get and it's not the high flying rates it was of old. Over the years the rates of the few roles I've seen that I could have done aren't much better...

But it doesn't say Fixed Term. It says Fixed/Short Term Contract.. and all our contracts are short term contracts so it's exactly what you want. Maybe a case or word blindness as you didn't read the one option which is what you do properly....
