You are quite right and a good call. He's actually already two months in to the course and he's not mentioned not being able to meet the requirements so far and has not mentioned linux. He's a maths grad rather than computing and engineering so he wouldn't know anything about linux and would have mentioned...

Two lawyers walk into a pub. They order a couple of drinks and take their sandwiches out of their briefcases and then they begin to eat them.
Seeing this, the angry publican exclaims, “Excuse me, but you can’t eat your own sandwiches in here!”
The two lawyers look at...

Must admit I wouldn't go as far as that and certainly wouldn't delete it but certainly lost faith in it years ago. Nothing that's going on on there is new either, maybe just the frequency of it, but the reams of irrelevant or willy waving posts turned me off a long time ago. People also talk about it...

Entry level laptop comparison for coding
Need a bit of help on laptop speeds please.
The laddo is doing an MA in Robotics which requires some level of coding. He has a four year old Aspire 3 i3 laptop which I seem to think was an entry level jobbie back in the day. He says its slow in general which I'd expect being four years...

Ahhh that's interesting. Didn't realise that. Good news though.
And also interesting. I thought it was just a straight case of the agent getting commission for clients placed and smaller outfits just didn't have the margins to be able to afford it....

Clarity have won the ContractorUK Awards for best Umbrella under 500 clients three years running. Most recently was last Wednesday. Lucy has done a lot of work for us and gives a lot of good advice in all areas of brollies. Yep, IMO that's usually the case for small companies. They want temp employees as the generally aren't big enough to have an employee per role so it's all hands to the pump to do what's needed. I'm always sceptical of outside gigs and small clients. It can happen but more often than not it's exactly...

So if it's been drawn up by an IR35 company it's likely just a process to follow rather than what the business wants but sounds like it's worked so far. Now you've come to the end and ad-hoc work is starting playing at SoW's isn't working very well. I'd take a guess the client just wants a dev to complete...

Foremost is they are on the backfoot as their founder made his money from plantations and slavery around 1799 and the group publicly apologised for this in 2020.
So when someone then complained...Last edited by northernladuk; 15 November 2024, 15:21.
