I have to say that if I was the recipient of a SAR I would ask for proof of ID as well. I don’t know GDPR in any detail but I would expect it to have views on giving out personal details without proof.
I’m curious to know how greedy these guys are. For a £50k loan will they demand the full amount or are they shaking down pennies in the pound to settle? 10p in the pound (£5k)? 1p in the pound (£500)?
I guess it will depend on how desperate they become....
