Tea: ribs (mango BBQ) and chips

Accompanied by part two of Murder Trial: The Killing of Dr Brenda Page, the case involving the 81-year-old bloke accused of murdering his wife in 1978

Further viewing was Storyville - Beyond Utopia: Escape from North Korea which, among other stories, followed five members of a North Korean family (aged about 8 to 80) from where they fled over the border into China, through Vietnam and Laos, all the way to them crossing the Mekong in a small boat and getting ashore in Thailand. The film crew couldn't follow them any further as they'd be entering the country illegally, but the family then surrendered themselves to the Thai police and were sent to South Korea to begin the process of learning how to live, where the filmmakers caught up with them a few months later. Remarkable stuff

And then a couple more chapters of Goodfellas. I'd vaguely assumed that the depiction in the film of the day Henry Hill was busted had been exaggerated in various ways for dramatic effect, but it turns out it's a completely straight depiction of his own account of that day in the book

      Goodnight all

A bit choppy on the climb out of Brizzle, but otherwise a good flight. Citroen C3 rental which definitely outperforms the Skoda Kamiq I had the last time.

          Morning denizens

Rosy-fingered dawn again, and not quite cold enough for a frost (or is it the humidity that matters?) at 3°C, rising to 8° later. The barometers are up some more at 1020/1028mB. The forecast says it's cloudy and will remain so all day, but it isn't cloudy other than wisps here and there, so who knows what's going to happen?

Grey and murky here, no dog to walk, but a father to entertain.

              Morning all

Sunny, blue sky, wispy fluff and chemtrails. Currently 3 degrees with a high of 9 expected. Cloud cover set to increase as the day progresses. Barometer up a bit to 1032 mBar.

Trying to summon the enthusiasm to start work.

                Morning.

                Thursday.

                Dry.

                Sunny.

Meanwhile on the 23rd of August 2019 it was 20 deg , WTFH was picking mushrooms & glasshouse grapes, NF was going shopping & to the pharmacist, with a passing visit by Scruff & PhilTheGreek.

Shopping trip to Morrisons & Tesco done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away. 34 out to Tesco, walked back since it was quicker than waiting 20 minutes for the 34 back.

Walk (abbreviated) walked in the wan sunshine.

Oz customs thing: chinese food. Bags full of chinese food. Some unfortunate brit with 0.5g of weed at the very bottom of his back pack. Involved the federal plod though they did let him across the border. For half a fecking gram of very very old weed.

                Tea: chilli con carne etc.

Entertainment: I'm sure there must have been some but I didn't find it.

Trucking Hell S8 E1. And there we have it: how to get an artic stuck on its side under a railway bridge out in one piece, plus an incinerated lorry & an incinerated volvo suv.

Isn't this the time of year when we usually get new Surgeons or Ambulance or something like that off the BBC? Most remiss of them if they've forgotten

And finally, I read a couple more chapters of Goodfellas

Monday again tomorrow, but what can you do?

                  Goodnight all

Lunch: pork cutlet and apple sauce bap (wholemeal)

Very similar to yesterday's lunch, due to poor planning on my part
