How much can you get in benefits? JSA is £73pw and housing benefit is capped in most areas now - round here I think it's about the same as JSA.

So on that basis the cross-over is working 20 hours per week on NMW of £7.20ph.

By barring Eastern Europeans all you will do is simply shrink the service industry.

Peter Hitchens visited Boston where Eastern Europeans come to work on the local farms. The reason is not because they're cheap, it's simply that the workers who used to come down from Sheffield had all retired. That's what happens when you have an aging population and 5% unemployment (i.e. more or less full employment).
It also keeps wages for these jobs low and it means that as a society we can simply ignore the 1.7 million unemployed. Many of these find that welfare is financially a better option than as you say getting up at 5.00 am to go to work. By restricting immigration pressures will fall on employers and government to deal with these problems rather than simply open the doors to immigration. As it is cheap labour makes us lazy as a society. By ignoring the working classes and the unemployed (let us not forget it is they that bear the main brunt of the social and economic costs of immigration) they kick back by voting for Brexit.
Going back to my original point which was if the situation was that our middle class graduate children were to confront competition for graduate trainee jobs from hordes of EU migrants there would be a very different tune being called.
I am not saying that we should stop all immigration I am just saying it should be controlled.

If these service companies were simply taking on Eastern Europeans and rejecting UK workers because the Eastern Europeans were cheaper they would have filled up all there other open positions as well with some "more expensive" UK workers wouldn't they. You are arguing if they simply put up their wages then UK workers would come flocking. So why won't they simply do this ? according to your argument they could make more profit as they could expand their business.

In order to support your argument you need to explain why if these service companies can't fill all their positions.

well they seem to be sticking at minimum wage for some reason maybe now even the EU migrants don't want it?

Are there arguments that it's actually better to have 5% unemployment living off benefits without looking for work? i.e. that these are the "bottom" 5% who are more trouble to keep in work that it's worth? Being pragmatic, it seems quite possible that from a capitalistic position it is cheaper to do this in certain scenarios... is this such a scenario?

Yes we don't have to educate them , we don't have to employ them. We simply get hard working immigrants in that will benefit the economy and give us the cheap labour we want. Furthermore with a nice fat chunk of "poor people" to act as hapless victims the left wing liberal virtue signallers have plenty of causes to wail about.

That's a business that either employs people on the minimum wage or they simply close and invest the money else where.

You can buy cheap chickens from all over the EU no-one in Britain is going to pay extra to "support" the locals.

actually is 69.44 hours at £7.20 tax free. If the person is working the cap is removed.
