    Morning all, local time 0810

Cloudy but dry. Currently 18 degrees with a high of 27 expected. Cloudy cover set to dissipate as the morning progresses. Barometer down a smidge to 1017 mBar.

    Sunrise 05:31; Sunset 21:00 EEST

Lovely dinner yesterday. Traditional hearty fare.

Hotel breakfast decent although I don't enjoy eating first thing so have had very little. HWMBO is off to the office and I'm going to walk up there with him before it gets too hot.

      Morning denizens

It's a sunny start here, with just the slightest wisps of cloud here and there to add texture. It's going to be a warm day too, and the first of many: already at 14°C, it's expected to soar to 23° by mid-afternoon, thereby setting a pattern that's expected to continue until at least a week on Friday (which is when the forecasts run out, and is also Summer Solstice Eve). The barometers are joining in the fun, jumping up to 1008/1016mB

I might finally get around to using that air conditioner that I bought during the hot spell last summer, which was delivered on the final day thereof and has thus only been used for about two hours in its life

I think mine has had about the same amount of use in the last 25 years. Bought for a bedroom in a different house that regularly reached 90 deg F in the summer. Sold the house to idle & co.

        Morning.

        Wednesday.

        Dry.

        Sunny.

        Blue sky in parts.

Chilly in here at 17.5 deg, 18.5 in the kitchen, 16 in the leanto.

1015.5 mBar, 29.9876 in Hg, 761.687 Torr, 14.728 psi, (down from 1016 last night), 71% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile we're back to 23rd of January 2020 again, with NF watching STNG with 2 eps with the same story & dejaQ to follow up, whereas I was off to an ldfart:s meeting in that Swansea, which is exactly what is happening this morning as well, though in Ye Newe Sloughe of Desponde rather than The Bank Statement (witherspoons).

X7 bus down to SA1. Nice meeting with s and soon to be s.

        Mediocre cup of mediocre coffee.

34 to B&Q for stuff I dreamed up a need for yesterday. 34 bus back to Swansea. X5 back to Neath (as a preferred option to getting back on the 34: the X5 is much quicker, the 34 has just arrived at Neath according to the timetable..

        Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: something waffling about prevention of death, followed by a thing about predatory marriages of the demented. <click>

The last 20 minutes of the Jewish chemist thing from this morning.

WWII civilian thing: entertainment. WTF was "don't forget the diver" all about? Oh, it referred to some one legged diver chap:

        Thing about bones on BBC4.

Minor potching in the garage in an increasingly desperate attempt to get the new brass hinges to work as well as the ancient brass hinges of yore.

Wonderland on Sky Arts. Mentioned "The Secret Garden". There was a production by the BBC in 1960 that I recall frightening the life out of me. In much the same way as The Old Curiosity Shoppe of the same era did.

Maigret and the Minister. More perfidious politicos. But at least he's not fecking orange.

          Morning all
CBS, looks like it could be a warm one.
Correct clothing worn on the walk - T-shirt and trousers. Slightly cool at the beginning of the walk, and then just right for the rest of it. Had quite a big walk too - 1hr 23 mins. Lots of watchers on eBay but not many bids yet, but there's still time.

Lunch was Heinz tomato soup with white toast

And as that was the last of the white bread barring a crust or two, the breadmaker has been pressed into service again to make a white loaf

Lovely aroma of freshly baked white bread in here now

This one appears to have risen more successfully than the wholemeal one. I also cranked up the crust setting so it has a nice golden hue

Darn sister arriving later. I've got to skip other things I wanted to do and spend tomorrow helping her set up her sculptures in an exhibition. Is it just me or do others find some of their relatives a pain in the **?

Finished reading Ludicrous. It was written in 2019, when deranged tweets drawing the ire of the SEC and cave rescuers seemed about as bad as Musk could get, but as we all now know, it could indeed get worse

                    Thursday tomorrow!

                      Morning.

                      Thursday apparently.

                      Damp.

                      Grey.

                      Dark.

                      Dreary.

Cool in here at 18.6 deg, 20 deg in the kitchen, 18.5 in the leanto.

1004 mBar, 29.65 in Hg, 753.1 Torr, 14.56 psi, (down from 1006 (untapped) last night).

Meanwhile on the 23rd of January 2020 BR14 popped in, as did LM, and wattaj, a variety of lunches were consumed, I survived the 's meeting in The Bank Statement, and the chinese plague was on the increase according to reports, whereas DaveB was unimpressed with Ginsters pasties pastrywise, LM was into M&S toffee, and xogg managed 63kph on foot according to his Garmin.

It's not damp any more: it's raining, so now it's wet.

Oh good. A drip in the leanto. Just wot I needed.

Lunch: an early brunch due to feeling a bit odd: see if raising blood sugar helps.

Entertainment: BBC News, Sky News, GB News, France 24. Nasty, very.

House in the process of being roughly vacced due to the inclemency of the weather. Bit of a contrast to yesterday. Turned the dehumidifier on for the first time in yonks.

                      Read bit of book.

Freecell score: 75%, running average: 82%. Definitely zoned out today. I now have to wear +1 dioptre ready readers so I can see the screen clearly. .

Tea: beans on toast. Nice enough.

Entertainment: PM. <click> Other other other book.

Trucking Hell S9 E5: including the repeat of the Flying Ferrari.

"Memory (2022)" with Liam Neeson as an hitman.

It must be said that I rather enjoyed that.
