    Afternoon all

Sunny but cloudy. Currently 21 degrees ('feels like 23') and that's the high for the day. Barometer up to 1015 mBar.

    Sunrise 04:49; Sunset 21:10 BST.

Tired this morning after a rubbish sleep. Busy day updating a 'concept of operations'. I seem to have all the amendments in and it's now undergoing internal review pending it be shared with the technical working group for further review and, hopefully, sign off.

I see the forecast for the rest of the week is increasingly worsening. I've got a BBQ planned for Saturday.

It's looking very Simpsonesque out now

Word has come from Royal Mail that they'll be delivering my new breadmaker, purchased from John Lewis, by 19:30 today!

Tea has been leftover chicken and chips

This was accompanied by a bit of the "motorway" police thing (does not include any motorway)

And my breadmaker will not, in fact, be arriving this evening as "the address was inaccessible" according to Royal Mail. This is, of course, a lie. I was watching from the window and saw the van arrive and park outside. I then watched the bloke spend getting on for ten minutes going through the back of the van, initially at the back doors, then switching to the side door, apparently trying to find it; after which he gave up and drove off again

Cloudflare seems very suspicious of me again

This evening, aside from reading some documentation for Apple's Metal to see if I can understand it yet (possibly, it turns out), I started reading Ludicrous: The Unvarnished Story of Tesla Motors by Edward Niedermeyer, who I believe received death threats from Tesla fanbois for going to the trouble of writing it

It's from 2019, so it's possible that even the most ludicrous revelations in there will seem comparatively humdrum in light of what we've seen since then

          Goodnight all

            Morning denizens

Rainy grey windy day today. The rain will supposedly end later this morning, but the wind will continue. Not too chilly though: already 12°C, albeit that "feels like" 3°, with a target of 18°. The barometers are way down though, at 990/998mB

I wish this lurgy would make its mind up. I woke up with a sore throat again and though that's now eased off a bit, I've developed a tickly cough and a runny nose. Covid test is negative again

              Morning all

A rather damp walk has been had, the sky can't decide whether to drizzle or rain, either way, it will be a relief for the garden

              21.9% through Scrambled maps.

New camera lens arrived yesterday, I had a play with it in the garden. Three boxes of camera gear are being picked up this morning, mostly cameras and lenses I have owned, but all in very good condition. It will be sad to see them go. The next stop for Neil (DPD) after picking up the boxes is to deliver a parcel to me, which is part of The Wife's birthday present. It's not her birthday until September, but it's a big one.

                Morning.

                Tuesday apparently.

                Damp, torrential earlier.

                Grey.

                Wanly sunny.

Chilly side of cool in here at 17.6 deg, 18.5 in the kitchen, 17 in the leanto.

999 mBar, 29.5 in Hg, 749.3 Torr, 14.489 psi, (down from 1006 last night), 70% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 21st of January 2020: see yesterday's post.

Freecell score: 92%, running average: 82%.

                Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: Start the Week: atoms. No mention of Cobalt Thorium G though.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in intermittent sunshine & grey gloom: timed to the second since the rain returned as I walked in through the back door.

Now outside a cup of mediocre coffee and some Aldi pitted dates. I really shouldn't buy those things. A packet lasts two days at the most.

Freecell score: 83%, running average 82%.

Tea: battered haddock (or cod, one or the other). Nice enough.

                Entertainment: NCIS S21 E9, 10.

                Thing about Helen Mirren.

                Book.

                Other book.

Dull and overcast. Currently 14 degrees ('feels like' 12) with a high of 18 expected. Weather apps says it's drizzling (not yet it isn't). Rain expected in varying degrees of likelihood and enthusiasm. Barometer down to 1006 mBar.
