AIUI Israel's explanation of why it wasn't them was - if we had done it then the hospital would have been rubble we don't mess about.
Amazing an explosion in a small car park (our tesco local has a bigger one) killed 500 people. Oh it seems they have wound it back to a few.

Gaza hospital blast killed 'several dozen' and not 471 as Palestine health bosses claimed, insists Israeli government spokesman as two sides trade accusations about horrifying explosion
      • Gaza Health Ministry said 471 Palestinians were killed in the blast Tuesday night
      • But Israel today rubbished claims, saying only 'several dozen' people were killed
      • Israel claims that a rocket fired from Gaza misfired and landed on the hospital

The 500 claim was made instantly, like within minutes, by Hamas but it raised no eyebrows with the media. Whenever events happen official authorities confirm low dead but likely to rise as they do search and rescue.

They then used that 500 claim to dismiss the early explanations of a misfiring. 'Hamas rockets aren't powerful enough to kill 500 people, can only be Israel strike'.

You can't look at the impact site and possibly believe 471 died and 100s more seriously injured. A couple of dozen, especially if people were camping on the grass, is far more realistic.

I largely agree but as one of the very safe spaces in the city it was likely very crowded. Plus rocket fuel is a slow explosive ( as such things go) unlike military warheads but still pretty destructive to human bodies.

Indeed it was obvious propaganda, the 7th unfolded slowly and Israel provided what seemed like sensible casualty figures as soon as they verified them.

Why our lovies believe Hamas I really don't understand.

Interesting take on the situation here.

The war against Israel is intended to destabilize the world

Israel has underestimated Hamas and is paying a high price for it. But this war is not just about Israel. Western notions of order are under threat, in Ukraine, the Middle East and beyond.

Cheers interesting, plays nicely into my paranoia.

There is no doubt much of the World hate the west.
Sadly I am unsure what they think will replace it effectively.
Many countries are in a terrible state due to poor management and racist/religious infighting.

It does seem that Hamas have opened the door for Muslim's to attack the mainly Christian west.

There was more damage in the car fire at Luton airport.

For me it's clear from the explosion lots of fire and minimal structural damage it was some sort of fire accelerant like rocket fuel that caused the damage rather than a 25-meter crater and flattened buildings the Israelis usually leave.

I suppose that depends on your definition of "damage" - just out of interest, how many lives were lost in the fire at Luton Airport?

well obviously not as many as 500 which is what Hamas claim.

I think the point Bluesharp is making is that the accusation that it was an Israeli air strike is fairly unlikely, as the Israeli's suggested they would have done a proper job not leaving it look like a fire.

I like most are willing to believe it was a Hamas rocket going awry which fits the facts.
