French media are quoting 'Senior European Intelligence' source that put the figure at a maximum of 50. There was a satellite photo taken the day before which showed very few people in/around the car park.
I think this is starting to become an own goal for Hamas. The misreporting is taking a lot of steam out of reporting genuine Israel actions.
They are also reporting that the Americans shot down multiple missiles fired from Yemen, believed to be targeting Israel. Not sure how that works, how can Yemen have missiles that can reach 2000km+? Iranian drones?Last edited by JustKeepSwimming; 19 October 2023, 20:29.Comment

Choose a side.
Choose a religion,
Choose a cause.
Choose war,
Choose indiscriminately firing homemade rockets and murdering raids,
Choose precision-guided bombs and border walls.
Choose violence, choose retaliation and repeat the cycle.
Choose buy now pay later war chests.
Choose religious donations.
Choose your friends.
Choose a flag, choose a side.
Choose self-defence or stolen lands.
Choose to attack Jewish Synagogues and Muslim Mosques in countries far away while spreading fake news and hate online.
Choose sitting on the couch watching wall-to-wall news coverage knowing you support the victim in all this.
Choose religious zeal.
Choose being distracted from your sad miserable existence by those worse off than you.
Choose to teach your kids to repeat all this, teach them to hate, teach them to throw stones at armed soldiers, teach them to steal thy neighbour’s home.
Choose a different future,
Choose to let parents put their children to bed at night knowing they will wake in the morning.
Choose Peace.Make Mercia Great Again!Comment

Just heard from a mate that a contractor who works at his place was just sacked for comments made on social media.
Funnily enough there seems to be some antisemistism groups connecting accounts to employers and then grassing them up.
Have to admit it's pretty funny seeing someone glorifying hamas and then the next day 'X company has confirmed Y is no longer employed with them'.Comment

There is a constant refrain of Israel being the guilty party in all this, while Israel are adamant that they are attacking Hamas. If Hamas chooses to keep civilians in the firing line, then their deaths are on Hamas's shoulder, not Israel's.
The whole thing is a bloody mess and will get worse. Probably best not to comment too muchBlog? What blog...?Comment

I don't know how it would play here with permies. Hamas is a proscribed terrorist group so any support is a crime.Comment

A bunch of student unions at Harvard penned a letter supporting Hamas. They have received a lot of backlash, big financial supporters pulling out, wallstreet firms asking for a list of names so they can be blacklisted etc.Comment
