I think the point Bluesharp is making is that the accusation that it was an Israeli air strike is fairly unlikely, as the Israeli's suggested they would have done a proper job not leaving it look like a fire.

I like most are willing to believe it was a Hamas rocket going awry which fits the facts.
I don't recall Hamas claiming anyone was killed in the fire at Luton Airport.

I doubt Hamas are responsible for that.

French media are quoting 'Senior European Intelligence' source that put the figure at a maximum of 50. There was a satellite photo taken the day before which showed very few people in/around the car park.

I think this is starting to become an own goal for Hamas. The misreporting is taking a lot of steam out of reporting genuine Israel actions.

They are also reporting that the Americans shot down multiple missiles fired from Yemen, believed to be targeting Israel. Not sure how that works, how can Yemen have missiles that can reach 2000km+? Iranian drones?

Just heard from a mate that a contractor who works at his place was just sacked for comments made on social media.

Funnily enough there seems to be some antisemistism groups connecting accounts to employers and then grassing them up.

Have to admit it's pretty funny seeing someone glorifying hamas and then the next day 'X company has confirmed Y is no longer employed with them'.

They're just protecting themselves. Better to sacrifice one idiot rather than risk getting a reputation for supporting one or other side. Plus supporting Hamas is marginally illegal now.

There is a constant refrain of Israel being the guilty party in all this, while Israel are adamant that they are attacking Hamas. If Hamas chooses to keep civilians in the firing line, then their deaths are on Hamas's shoulder, not Israel's.

The whole thing is a bloody mess and will get worse. Probably best not to comment too much

In the US it seems a lot more divided with companies willing to pick a side, typically Israel. I've seen newspaper adverts from companies saying 'We stand with Israel' etc. They also tend to have 'at will' employment as the standard so it's easy to sack for any reason other than protected characteristic.

I don't know how it would play here with permies. Hamas is a proscribed terrorist group so any support is a crime.

This. I do find it a bit strange that so many people in another country, different language, customs, cultures has such a strong opinion on another's activities. If you are connected to what's going on or well versed maybe but I do find it, dunno the word, unhelpful when someone takes a side without understanding. A simple example is guns in the US. Many UK people will have a very simple answer but spend any length of time in the US and you'll realize guns are fundamental to their way of life. Not having them is simply not an option. A load of UK people demonstrating against US gun issues is just a waste of everyone's time if you get me. Staying schtum on his one is the wise move for many. Very sad and difficult situation.

It still amazes me that folks place controversial posts on 'social media' other than using a nom de plume.

In some instances i've seen it's been Linkedin, which is battulip crazy to me. 'I normally like to keep this strictly work, but I can't sit silent on this blah blah'. We are talking Doctors, Dentists, Lawyers, bankers. Some girl got sacked from Citi last week. Professionals and many of them young enough to know anything you do online can come back to haunt you.

A bunch of student unions at Harvard penned a letter supporting Hamas. They have received a lot of backlash, big financial supporters pulling out, wallstreet firms asking for a list of names so they can be blacklisted etc.
