Old Greg - In search of acceptance since Mar 2007. Hoping each leap will be his last. -
Today i learnt one of the main underlying causes for this tulipe show, is just 35 acres of land.
A 1000 year old sacred mosque in east Jerusalem that the Jews say was formerly the location of sacred Jewish temples.
Muslims are pissed that the Israelis control access to the site.
Google 'Temple mount' or watch this video: https://youtu.be/Lb3v8M8dzic?feature=sharedLast edited by Fraidycat; 15 October 2023, 12:16.Comment

Jerusalem was found in around 3500 BCE. King David made is his capital some 500 years later and the temple was built by his son about 40 years after that. The Crusades were an attempt to take Jerusalem back from the Muslims who had occupied the city and driven out the Jewish population.
So I think the cause is a lot deeper that you've been told. And the Muslim claim to the city is a little spurious, and although you can understand why they might want their mosque back they don't have any absolute right to it. Furthermore, since the people making the demands are also the ones who fail to recognise Israel's legitimacy, the Israelis are not all that willing to make a gesture in their direction (apart rom the obvious one, of course).Blog? What blog...?Comment

Fraidycat Check out when the Israelis gained control over the Temple on the Mount. The main underlying cause was already underlaid way before then.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

So earlier on today Israel bombed the Rafah crossing where there's a tulip ton of civilians waiting to get into Egypt. How is this not a bloody war crime? Even with Hamas hiding in between civilians, you don't just bloody bomb the lot. Russians did a lot of similar tulipe in Ukraine and were automatically called out, why the hell there's pretty much no reaction here? (apart from maybe UN, which already criticised the 24hr deadline for fleeing Gaza).Comment
