It's the same whenever there is a terrorist attack here, some source will always claim 'He was known to the intelligent services'. 10,000s are known to the intelligence services.

Intelligence gets a specificity and reliability rating. 'We think something may happen sometime in the future' isn't actionable intelligence.

I do agree that most saying 'The jews ignored it in order to justify genocide' are being anti semitic. The same as most saying Bush ignored 9/11 warnings to justify invading middle east are anti-American. However I do think some people are just conspiracy minded without care to subject matter.

If history is much to go on, PM getting chucked out with the united government after the war.

To insinuate there was deliberate ignorance to allow Hamas to attack so enabling a 'tough' Israeli response is, in my opinion, close to anti-Semitism, laughable and disgraceful, all at the same time: while you're at it, why no mention how 'every Jew' working in the Twin Towers phoned in sick on Sep 11 or that the Showers were only used to delouse the 6 million Jews who then amazingly ALL died of typhus?

My view of Bibi and every other Israeli politician is pretty much my view of every UK, US, EU, and (definitely) Welsh Government politician: they are all self serving generally un-hinged borderline criminals; would Bibi ignore warnings for political or nationalistic reasons? No, Not a chance, Not for a moment. Could he have done so in error? Sure, maybe.

Last Israeli PM I rated at all? Ehud Barak.
Criticism of the Israeli government isn't anti-Semitic, whatever your "opinion". From your comments the events over the weekend appear to have had quite an impact on you - it's quite possible that the scale of Israel's retaliation against the people of Gaza is having a similar impact on others.

Perhaps we should treat the forum like the dinner table and refrain from certain topics lest they spoil the dinner.

      Only a suggestion.

Israel ain't playing around. Iranian foreign minister was due to land in Syria. Israel blew up two Syrian runways so he couldn't land and had to return home.

I think that is a very fair suggestion.

While this isn't 'my' thread, might I 2nd Zigenare's suggestion and ask that this thread is closed by the mods.

You know this is General where we can discuss general things?

The biggest news story worldwide probably needs discussing.

If you can't discuss it like adults, then I suggest you unplug your keyboard.

Hamas sowed the wind, most of us are hoping that Israel are moderate with the whirlwind.

A very pragmatic Israeli approach, you shot missiles at us, we respond by attacking premium targets.

I'm not entirely convinced this blockade is a good idea.

24 hours given for half the population to move. (And off that 50% half will be children.) This is according to Reuters.

Whilst Hamas says it's all propaganda and to stay put (funny that...).

24hrs is impossible in the best of circumstances, let alone with infrastructure / roads absolutely destroyed and no central efforts to make this happen (as in everyone for themselves). Tragedy in the making for civilians however you look at it :/
