Is that figure so low though because many charges relating to crimes against women are dropped? If more went through to conviction, then maybe that figure would be higher?

You're not keen on facts, are you? The facts are that men are violent animals, evolution has made us that way. Thankfully the majority of us are in control of our basest emotions. However it would appear that some are not. Yes, the majority of violent acts are enacted by Men - upon Men, not on Women - but that doesn't sell newspapers or fill "vigils". What do you define as a violent act? Hopefully you'd include rape. What about sexual assault, domestic abuse?

Maybe the women in your life have been fortunate never to have been violated by men, but a huge number of women have and most of it goes unreported.
