I'd have thought that you'd lead with that you said "all too often" and Ziggy's picking on "often", when the difference in meaning is quite obvious. Something can happen all too often to women, and happen more to men at the same time. Of course, the point is that physically, women are generally less strong than men, and therefore male violence towards women is something that's particularly nasty.
