That seems misleading since it includes severe disablement allowance (which most people can't get) and child tax credits (which you can get while earning).

The cap is the most anyone can possibly claim, doesn't mean most people can claim that much. I doubt most people are claiming anything like that. Someone I know who is diagnosed with a condition that means they are realistically unable to work gets more than a typical unemployed person but still maxes out at about £300-350pcm what they can receive for housing, plus a slightly higher than JSA amount (maybe £100/week?) Round here that's a reasonable amount to live off but only just.

Well they didn't leave the EU as they said they would, did they, we're still in it. It's also pretty clear if we do a "Soft Brexit" there won't be much change. We will only find out what "Hard Brexit" does when there is a clear plan for Hard Brexit. But last week doesn't bode well does it.

The cap only counts if you aren't working, if you do 16 hours then there is no practical limit.

Some benefits act as gateway ones.

All in the living wage is pretty close to what you need to escape benefits so its 30% more than minimum wage

And was that the best case scenario? Or was it the worst?

And was it a reduction from now or where we 'might' be in the future?

Looks bad unless e.g. it was commissioned by someone like Osborne and they have quoted the worst case scenario against what might theoretically have been in 15 years time.

Indeed a single person might. However a worker with a family gets considerably more, that's why my friends avoid working for the minimum wage.
