Cloudy start once more, though there was sun not long ago, so there probably will be again. It's 15°C and there's a hint of the predicted weekend warmup in today's expected high of 22°; Friday looks like being the warmest at 25°. The barometers are up a bit more at 1002/1009mB
Cool in here at 20.5 deg, 21 in the kitchen, 19.5 in the leanto.
1009 mBar, 29.796 in Hg, 756.8 Torr, 14.634 psi, (up from 1007 last night), 67% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 3rd of February 2020 BR14 popped in, opm found it drizzly in Manchester, WTFH was looking for dinner at 03:45 having just arrived at his hotel, LM was having difficulty with trains, T2, T3, and T4, plus a loop being mentioned, with BI playing up to crown it all and I was in with the hoi polloi listening to someone who'd lost the updations to his CV.
Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: the 1945 election thing, the 11:45 R4 thing.
Now out to cut my half of the front hedge. The other half of which is now 9" taller . Won't be long before it'll be 8 feet high & 6 feet wide on their side. Long may they enjoy it. Especially when it flowers*. .
*Which reminds me of "Spies" by Michael Frayne, the hero of which sets off on a journey back to the UK when said pong reminds him of his 1940s youth in WWII Britain.
4 lawns duly mown. Nearly dead now.
Now outside a nice mug of mediocre but consistent coffee.
Glad I don't have to mow next door's hayfields, the front hayfield is blessed with the remains of the "pruned" rambler rose: this will, of course, merely encourage it. . I wonder if "they" realise this. .
Tea: soup etc.
Entertainment: PM <click>
Maigret's Failure: the nasty butcher one who thinks Maigret is his friend from skool. .
Foyle's War S2 E4: Foyle falsely accused of sedition.
New series of Only Connect started yesterday so I'm currently enjoying that.

The picture was of Stephenson’s Locomotion Number 1 (for Stockport & Darlington Railway in 1825), not the Rocket (Liverpool & Manchester Railway, 1829).
And so we did. Overtrousers worn as trousers, and the light raincoat kept me mostly dry. First time I’ve worn the Altbergs out in the wet and they performed admirably. Pace was slightly slower than yesterday, so didn’t even manage 11km.
The builder who is replacing a few windows around the house was a bit disappointed by the drizzle when he arrived, but it’s clearing up now, so he has no excuses.
Overcast but reasonably bright. Currently 18 degrees with a high of 23 expected. The sun may make an appearance, as may the rain. Barometer up to 1014 mBar.
Sunrise 05:12; Sunset 21:03 BST
Tired. Woke early despite me having the room as dark as possible. I don't know what time as I refused to look at the clock but it was well before the alarm went off.
A much more manageable volume of meetings today including one with the Swiss client where we will discuss an increase in the SOW now that the end client's European launch of their new wonder treatment is gathering pace.
