Duck soup for breakfast with granary bread. Yummy.

Another day of excitement yesterday & today.

The "adults" have been thinking again, I predict a train crash.

Walk briskly walked, green ring closed

So that's the evening left free

Lunch was also accomplished: herby chicken, tomato and lentil soup, with crusts of both wholemeal and multiseed bread, to help free up more space in the freezer

Uneventful day so far. Motivation severely lacking.

Same here. I just reported a bug in the AWS QuickSight documentation (a page with its content replaced by the content of another page), hoping it would make me feel alive. It didn't

We had a meet with one of the third party consultants - he is strangely competent - must be a hiring mistake!

I have managed to waste an hour trying to wrestle with an abysmally implemented Word template for some documentation I have to produce. I like doing documentation but I do very much dislike templates that are cobbled together by idiots. There's three different fonts in the autogenerated contents and the heading levels are all over the effing place.

I finally managed to get something potentially useful done, but it's still unclear if it actually will be useful. QuickSight seems to quite often provide some functionality, A, and some other functionality, B, which would be really useful if they could be linked together; but they can't be. Often there's something else, C, which duplicates a lot of the functionality of A and will link up with B, but the one bit of A that would be useful is the bit that's missing

Brightened up a bit here now. Give the rush hour a bit longer to die down and I'll see if the car will start and take it for a run down the M69; and as I have a Sainsbury's order coming tomorrow, I will instead take the opportunity to pop into M&S on the way back. There's some sausages of theirs that I like, but ran out of long ago

                    Cancel that

There's a bloke who parks next to me whose blue car seems to be about eighteen inches longer than any normal car, and a small silver car that parks opposite along the side of the carriage path or whatever it is. Normally, blue car isn't there on weekday evenings, but he's home early. And the combination of blue and silver car makes it virtually impossible to get the Corolla out without excessive manoeuvring.

I can do it by turning the wrong way out of the parking space, then turning into an unfenced back yard a few doors up, backing out of there the other way, and finally heading out; or I can faff about inching backwards and forwards between blue and silver a dozen times until I finally get onto an alignment that lets me get between them. But right now there's a Mini parked in the back yard where I have to turn (it lives there, but the owner's an NHS shift worker so the times it's there vary), which means that would also involve a lot of inching back and forth to get turned around.

So faced with the prospect of taking five minutes or more faffing about just to be able to point the car in the direction of the gate, I decided the M&S sausages aren't a matter of urgency

Trundling news: not going to bother, as there's only one bag with a couple of collapsed cardboard boxes in the bottom of the bin, and my bag of stuff has room for more and wouldn't get the bin even half full anyway
