Meanwhile on the 3rd of February 2020 BR14 popped in, opm found it drizzly in Manchester, WTFH was looking for dinner at 03:45 having just arrived at his hotel, LM was having difficulty with trains, T2, T3, and T4, plus a loop being mentioned, with BI playing up to crown it all and I was in with the hoi polloi listening to someone who'd lost the updations to his CV.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: the 1945 election thing, the 11:45 R4 thing.

Now out to cut my half of the front hedge. The other half of which is now 9" taller . Won't be long before it'll be 8 feet high & 6 feet wide on their side. Long may they enjoy it. Especially when it flowers*. .

*Which reminds me of "Spies" by Michael Frayne, the hero of which sets off on a journey back to the UK when said pong reminds him of his 1940s youth in WWII Britain.

Glad I don't have to mow next door's hayfields, the front hayfield is blessed with the remains of the "pruned" rambler rose: this will, of course, merely encourage it. . I wonder if "they" realise this. .

drizzling out. We’re going to get wet.

And so we did. Overtrousers worn as trousers, and the light raincoat kept me mostly dry. First time I’ve worn the Altbergs out in the wet and they performed admirably. Pace was slightly slower than yesterday, so didn’t even manage 11km.
The builder who is replacing a few windows around the house was a bit disappointed by the drizzle when he arrived, but it’s clearing up now, so he has no excuses.

Tired. Woke early despite me having the room as dark as possible. I don't know what time as I refused to look at the clock but it was well before the alarm went off.

A much more manageable volume of meetings today including one with the Swiss client where we will discuss an increase in the SOW now that the end client's European launch of their new wonder treatment is gathering pace.

But it also means that once we're done at around 10am, there'll be approximately nothing for me to do for the rest of the day
