Later viewing was the first two episodes of I Claudius on iPlayer (the first being a double-length one). Great stuff

And then another couple of chapters of The Possessors. The plot thickens, as plots do

    Goodnight all

Grey start out after a rather foggy night, and not too warm again: currently 7°C and expected to get to 12° later. The barometers are down a bit at 985/993mB

          Morning all

Started off dull and overcast but now seems to be brightening up. Looks like there was much rain overnight. Currently 11 degrees ('feels like' 9) with a high of 12 expected. More rain forecast overnight. Barometer down to 997 mBar.

Not a great night's sleep, waking up at 3 am and again around 5:45 am. Feeling a bit under the weather this morning.

            Morning.

            Wednesday apparently.

            Drily damp.

            Sunny.

            Blue sky in parts.

Cool in here at 16.7 deg, 16 deg in the kitchen, 14 deg in the leanto.

Meanwhile on the 22nd of July 2019 the livingroom light had proved to be flicker free and was awaiting refitting (which it's still awaiting to this very day) whereas the assembled congregation was looking forward to the prognosticated heatwave's imminent arrival.

More "gardening" done: apple & pear tree leaves now in the compost heap, next door's bit of lawn that grows like Topsy duly mown.

Various bits of bramble yanked up.

            Knackered now.

Tea: chicken in white sauce etc.

Brightening up here a bit; tending towards the Simpsonesque now

              Off to Big Sainsbury's shortly…

Shopping was accomplished, so that's one less thing to bother about

                Distinct lack of masks

And lunch has been a "well seasoned" chicken leg, reduced to clear at the hot food counter

For tea tonight: chunky cod fillet fish fingers with chips and beans

And due to a lack of anything new from the gold or opal people, I was at liberty to watch The Met on iPlayer, following a bunch of criminal reprobates in London as they chase other criminal reprobates

And then parts 3 and 4 - or should that be III and IV - of I Claudius in which the intrigue continues. She's a one, that Livia

Finally, a couple more chapters of The Possessors which is making up for a rather slow start

Early night now, as I want to make a reasonably early start tomorrow

                  Goodnight all

Gloomy grey rainy start, but about as mild as one can expect for the time of year at 9°C heading for 13°. The barometers are down some more at 979/987mB
