No, but it's a nice picture. We could have Dodgy Agent running the book.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation! -
+1. Bear in mind that usability studies show that most people don't actually read a web site; instead, they scan the page looking for trigger words or phrases that make them think they've found the right thing, and click on that. With the current layout, the phrase "General issues affecting and of interest to contractors" right at the top leads them straight into the bearpit, where they ask their question about brollies or VAT (which is an issue that affects and is of interest to them as a contractor) and get flamed.Originally posted by FiveTimes View PostI think that General needs to be lowered in the list - as its at the top of the fora list newbies are more likely to wander in rather than looking in the other sections .
As vBulletin allows forums to be grouped into subsets, something that would work well would be to group the serious topics at the top, with General and LR (and possibly an Intros section) in a second group below that. Something like:
Professional

The plan looks good - add some explicit warning in white on white as well
Yes, just like I did it here.

It looks a good structure. Personally I would like to see post count filter added to general, a little like an executive bathroom. This would stop newbies accidently wandering in and getting flamed while also ensuring that anyone banned or creating a sockie cannot join straight in.20 posts or so should do it?Originally posted by AtW View PostThe plan looks good - add some explicit warning in white on white as well
