If they're accredited by a professional body then make a complaint about them. Otherwise I'm not sure there's anything you can do?

Yes, there's not been much come to light that changes my opinion either. Those who elected for the higher tier "hands off" premium accounting offers are those who really need to be worried. In Hector's shoes I'd be focusing on those clients since they are quite likely MSC and actually chose...

Oh dear. If Hector wins the case against Boox and or CK the floodgates definitely open for further cases.

Nobody is going to recommend SJP as a pension privider unless they have their snouts in the SJP trough. Almost anyone is going to be preferable. Educate yourself a little and open a SIPP account with AJ Bell if possible would get my vote....

Yes. I have done exactly that, 100% turnover into a pension.
(Caveat, £40k annual contribution allowance applies. Carry forward of three years is possible if you were a member of a pension for up to three previous years)....Last edited by Fred Bloggs; 16 March 2023, 16:31.

And that was the flaw in the subscription model right from the start, "give us a blank cheque and perhaps sometime in the next decade or so, you might not have to pay HMRC. But no promises on that".
And I think the government of the day is absolutely correct to follow up on contrived...

For the avoidance of doubt, anyone using the named company or any of it's sister companies is an idiot. Simple.

I have been waiting over 20 years for Brookson to be targeted. They were a large part of the reason MSC legislation was enacted. In my opinion, of course....

Well done for quickly recognising what you did. Here is a great place to start learning. It's a bit late but in essence you need to take complete charge of what you're doing and be able to prove it if asked down the road. Being in business is what it's all about and allowing an accountant to do everything...

What eek says. Not doing it yourself is stupid given what's happening with HMRC. Last year I applied to register a company and I was up and running within 3/4 of an hour....
