It can but as I said there are too many using it for social only and not putting any effort in to the advice sections. I also have to question how you would call some of the moron posts we get as being social for people to join in as well and not feed the click but saying that I havn't a clue how to fix that.

Yes the board should be shaped to how NM sees it. He's been here all of five minutes,gets highly aggressive and personal to anything he believes doesn't fit the norm and on other threads believes that only his view counts.

There is a social element to the board. Many have met up and many have contracted for years and years. Non general boards should be considered out of bounds, while a general or chatroom style forum should be included which is taken so seriously .

When NM has contracted for more than 12 months and not only as a call centre advisor he may come to appreciate somewhere to come and unwind!

You don't suggest who specifically this is aimed at, but I can guess a few CUKers that you may be referring to.

In the 4.5 years that I've been posting on this board, I haven't reported a single post or asked for a single person to be banned.

To be honest I am not interested in reading the other forums ( maybe technical sometimes ) , I have been contracting for years so know the ropes and it comes as no surprise to me that the market is crap.

I would keep it just the way it is, I don't think it is broken, maybe lower general down the display order so new people don't walk straight into the general bun fight, I like the robust nature of here. I really just come on to wind AtW up. I would allow more threads from LR to be on general, except the really crap stuff like TPD which I am just not intersted in.

If some is unable to survive General; they are probably not robust enough to survive being a contractor. General is used as a substitute for office banter when contractors work from home or they are in an office full or permies treating contractors like plague.
