Couldn’t happen to a nicer couple

    https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...usbands-office

A crucial document seen by the Guardian suggests that both PPE Medpro and LFI Diagnostics were set up for the ultimate benefit of Barrowman and his family.
The document was prepared by Anthony Page, who runs Barrowman’s family office in the Isle of Man. It lists both PPE Medpro and LFI Diagnostics as “entities” of his family office, also known as the Knox family office.

Wasn't Barrowman the POS behind some of those dodgy IoM contractor loan schemes?
Scoots still says that Apr 2020 didn't mark the start of a new stock bull market.

Oh yes, the one and same.

She was still fervently denying any link yesterday. However, they, (the couple) are just one of many and I hope the others get caught.
In China they would be executed. [end of rant]

It is (but shouldn't be) incredible to me that for so many people during a national emergency the first thought wasn't "how can I help?" but "how can this help me line my pockets?" - and how many of those people were able to do exactly that in exchange for a relatively modest donation to the Tory party. Vile people.

We are reverting to developing country/banana republic status with all of the governmnet corruption but none of the perks - such as the ability to drag this couple around Trafalgar square by their ankles behind a Toyota Hilux.

Unfortunately these type of people and companies exist hence why a country cannot rely on self regulation on these serious matters. Legislation has to be brought in with strong monitoring and very harsh prison sentences even for company directors. However, I do not foresee that happening in the UK especially as one reason for Brexit was to avoid anti-corruption regulations.

Sadly its not just the Conservatives. Corruption in political life is endemic. Funny to find myself agreeing with the Socialist worker, but on Golden Visas for despots they are spot on.

It may be the conservatives are just better at it?

however lets hope those involved are prosecuted appropriately. Starmer & Sunak seem to be encouraging this.

Some, yes. These days it seems that grifting is the business model of choice, especially for the ruling classes. In the before times, people like this would have been reviled - unable to get service at any decent restaurant and spat at in the street. Today they get given peerages by the modern Tory party.
