Are IT developers the stupidest people on earth ?

I can't think of any other profession where people are actively working to put themselves out of work by automating their job. IT workers need a world union.

You are suggesting that IT developers are developing automatic IT developers? Like they are making robots to sit at a desk and do their job?

At least they'll always need people to bleed radiators, that's my backup plan once a robot is as capable of developing and supporting compnles enterprise apps as well as me

And there's me wondering about automating jobs away from Operations.

Any developer worried about their job should pull their finger out of their arse and start retraining.

Absolutely. The smart ones are still coding in machine language, banging hex codes onto a floppy disk using an MS-DOS sector editor.
              You're awesome! Get yourself a t-shirt.

If the computer industry is good at one thing it's finding new ways to reinvent old stuff. It won't be long before we're again coding in machine language and banging hex codes onto a floppy disk using an MS-DOS sector editor, except it'll have a trendy new name and everybody under 30 will think it's a revolutionary approach to developing software.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

What about people who work in factories assembling robots designed to work in factories assembling robots?
