Years ago when I was an air cadet, I had to strap other cadets into Chipmunk aircraft ready for their air experience flights. A sick bag was provided to them.
Despite these flights often involving aerobatics, they didn't get used very often. Only once a cadet needed to - and he emerged from the aircraft holding it aloft, looking quite proud for some reason..

It's no weirder than collecting beermat or little matchbooks (back in the day) I suppose.

My contracting career took in nearly 1100 flights, he can collect those barf bags if he likes (all full!)

I used to collect them as well. The contents at least. I'm not sure many made it off the plane.

Well...erm... When me and my mates were younger going on multiple lads holidays we had a bit of a tradition of mailing any old tat we could find to rub it in the recipient wasn't on holiday. Club fliers, bar mats and all sorts but sick bags were the go to item. Two or three holidays a year over close to a decade was a lot of sick bags in the post. Address and stamp with rude message on the back and in the post it goes. Not a single one went missing which was impressive. I know me and a couple of the lads still have them in keepsake boxes in the loft somewhere.
