yes the bit they couldn't privatise became DSTL and the rest (majority of it) rolled into Qinetiq....

We have a history of selling off/privatising/outsourcing "government scientific/technology assets". It has been going on since the 1990's. DERA to Qinetiq is the most famous one i think but there have been several others. Some successful some frightfully less so.

Malvolio suggestion tends to work for more recent specs.
They are unlikely to take stuff that won't run Win11.
My advice, try googling for local charities who might take. Try "charities near me who want old computer kit".
Might be an idea to keep 1 in case for example you...
