It's grey out but HWMBO is firing up the BBQ so I don't have to move all the freshly washed washing.

Been watching some old episodes of Tales of the Unexpected recently. Was one in which a bloke invents a gadget that hears plants screaming when they are damaged.

Seems it wasn't so fictional after all.

In The Corner That Held Them, the spire has been completed! Meanwhile, confusion around elections has led to some rather unsuitable prioresses leading the convent; but they continue to muddle through, a tiny community of disparate characters, finding ways to live in the world without being of it

Morning denizens
Cloudy start after some more rain overnight, though the wind's dropped. It's a mere 15°C at the moment and getting a bit warmer than yesterday at 23°, though only expected to be that high for an hour or two this afternoon. The barometers are much the same at 1002/1009mB
I noticed the two adult magpies were on the lawn yesterday evening without the brood, so I was wondering if the three young ones had moved out. But I just saw one making its usual morning visit to the mossy garage roof out the back, and when one comes, the other two usually aren't far behind. So I think that maybe they're getting a bit more adventurous and roaming more without supervision, but they'll probably still be around for a while longer

Morning.
Wednesday.
Damply dry.
Wanly sunny.
Cool side of warmish in here at 21.4 deg, 22 in the kitchen, 19 in the leanto, 17 in the saltinghouse.
1009.5 mBar, 29.81 in Hg, 757.2 Torr, 14.64 psi, (up from 1008 last night), 65% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 1st of February 2020 Brillo popped in, WTFH was leaving on a jet plane the next day, NF and LM found it sunny, chilly, and breezy, and I was in with the hoi polloi again, whereas LM was contemplating renting storage for sorted out tat.

Afternoon
Bright and warm, gentle breeze, sparse cloud cover. 25.1 deg in the study
Up earlier this morning as needed to give my niece a lift to the garage to pick up a courtesy car.
Finally escaped from the old domain provider.. They didn't respond to any of my requests to update the IPS tags for my new provider.
In the end I just went direct to Nominet, paid a tenner (plus VAT) and all my domains instantly transferred across to Mythic. Job done.
Renewal fee from old provider now in dispute with PayPal since the renewal didn't appear to have been actioned.
I suspect old provider is now nearly entirely automated with very few (if any) support staff left.
Onwards and upwards..
Wanted to sort out one of the outbuildings this afternoon but it's a bit too warm for me (south facing garden, tin roof building)
