This morning's main endeavour was working backwards through a stack trace on Sentry while flipping over to the source code of the offending app, which I don't know. Diligence was rewarded when I discovered that the cause of the problem seems to be that a timeout value which defaults to five minutes was accidentally being set to 229 billion years

I suspect he'd typed in a long string of random digits as a reminder to come back to it later, then forgotten

It only caused a problem under a slightly uncommon set of circumstances which their tester created yesterday, which explains why nobody else had noticed anything wrong in the last seven weeks or so since the change

Led the old fart group walk today. Damn annoying! A nice bit of the path was closed and we had to take the familiar route. It was ok when we checked it on Sunday.

Now trying to repair my toilet seat that's come loose. Does life get any more exciting?

Tea has been sausages, chips, and beans

This was selected largely because there were beans in the fridge that needed using up

I've got an appointment for a checkup at the dentist on Friday morning. I had thought that as I'd be on the right side of town, I'd pop down to Big Sainsbury's afterwards, beating the lunchtime crowds. But the optician's phoned earlier to say my new reading glasses are ready, so I've got to go and collect them afterwards instead, and that would result in being at Sainsbury's bang on lunchtime. So now I'm thinking I may do the shopping tomorrow evening, leaving Friday for mouth and eyes

I could go early and do the shopping first. But it's going to be hot, and that would result in stuff sitting baking in the boot of the car for over an hour, so that's probably not a good idea

                    Morning denizens

Thursday! Just got to make it through to 17:00

It's a clear blue sky, though fading towards the horizon suggesting some very high haziness - that, or atmospheric pollution. Anyway, it's going to be scorchio. It's already 16°C and expected to reach a high of 28°C this afternoon; the barometers are trivially up at 1014/1022mB

Here in the living room, it's already 25° so I think the air conditioner will be getting a workout. I ordered an extension lead off Amazon last night so I can plug it in near the small side window, as that's the best option for poking the extraction tube out of without letting too much warm air back in, and also keeps it out of the way in the corner beyond the settee

                      Morning.

                      Thursday.

                      Dry.

                      Blue sky.

                      Sunny, very.

Cool in here at 19.8 deg, 21 deg in the kitchen, 18.5 in the leanto, 17.9 in the saltinghouse.

1019 mBar, 30.09 in Hg, 764.3 Torr, 14.78 psi, (unchanged), 69% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 25th of January 2020 Brillo filled two pages, whilst NF celebrated Chinese New Year by going to the Chinese, and BR14 managed to get a post in edgeways.

                      Washing frenzy in progress.

More washing frenzy in progress including yesterday's work shirt before it walks off on its own, like.

The curious case of the non functioning socket in the garage has been duly corrected: appears to be down to the horrid cheap jack chinese crap junction box from Wilko: it's a different design to their earlier offerings and much inferior in my opinion. Fixed now though I really couldn't see why it didn't work before (might have tightened the screw down on insulation, perhaps).

                      Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: some music nonsence on R4.

"A lawless street (1955)" with that Randolph Scott & Jessica Fletcher showing her legs off. .

Everything in off the line bone dry.

Too hot in the garage to do much.

Cup of mediocre coffee consumed before the stress of the iRoning of the shirts.

Had to turn the iRon down a bit since it seemed overly hot, but ok for the cotton twill & hanky, not so good on the work shirt.

Washing frenzy complete (including the couple of smalls that resided in the washbasket & got flung into the WM). Also did the cords and jeans whilst I was at it, both of which were bone dry after a couple of hours on the line. Phew wot a scorcher.

32 deg in the saltinghouse despite both doors being open, 22 deg in here.

Entertainment in the unbearable heat of the afternoon: David Starkey waffling on about Magna Charta, during which I dozed for a while.

Tea: beans on toast with scrambled egg. Nice enough.

                      Entertainment: PM.

                      Electricity meter reading: 34792.
