Mahjong with some old farts this morning. Book reading club later, can't remember nowt about book I read, was such boring drivel, lady imagining a rat in her stomach and things.
Just done Co Hse verification. New damn system, downloading app, take photos of passport and me on phone. Why can't I just log into my existing account? The F* government etc never tire of wasting your time.bloggoth

My plimsols survived the WM and look much better for it.
Bed linen has been laundered. The fitted sheet and pillow cases have already dried, just waiting on the duvet cover.

I remembered in mid-afternoon that I've got a column fan pointing at my chair in the study, so I turned it on. Feeling much cooler as a result
Amazon have pushed back the delivery time for the extension lead I need for the air conditioner to sit by the small window in the living room. Should be here by 6pm apparently
In the meantime, I've shifted bits around so I could wheel it into that corner and it's ready to go once I can plug it in

The lead arrived just before 5pm! So after various contortions to run it behind the settee to the nearest socket, and then to get the extractor tube wedged in the window, the air conditioner is now running
TBH it's not that bad in here compared to the other side of the flat - only 26°C in the living room, as it doesn't get direct sun past around 11am. But that's still warmer than I'd like, so I'll see how long it takes it to get down to a reasonable level. Already down to 25.9° after a few minutes!

Tea has been oniony chicken casserole and chips
This was accompanied by the latest episode of Night Coppers
The air conditioner is doing well enough, having got the living room down to 24°C now, which is making the rest of the flat feel distinctly warm
