Telly was yet another Traffic Cops I've seen before

Tomorrow's thunderstorms are now down to 90%

    Goodnight all

    Comment

      Morning denizens

There's a lot of high, thin cloud out; but not really what you'd call overcast, and a bit of sunshine threatens to break through. Currently 16°C with a high of 19° forecast, and the barometers down somewhat at 997/1005mB. This afternoon's promised thunderstorms have been downgraded to rain, but retain their 90% likelihood for the moment

        Morning all

Dull and overcast but dry. Currently 17 degrees with a high of 20 later. The random number weather app reckons there'll be a bit of sunshine poking out this morning before it rains this afternoon. Barometer down to 1007 mBar.

Slept ok but still tired this morning.

        Today's Kantar diary fact is:
Australian Wendy Tuck becomes the first woman skipper to win the 'Clipper Round the World Yacht Race' 2018

'woman skipper'? Surely female skipper is a better phrase?

In something of a turn up for the book, I seem to have gone to bed rather later than NF due to watching "The Hunter (1980)" on Talking Pictures.

          Morning.

          Dry Wet. Very wet.

          Sunny Dark.

          Dank.

          Dire.

          Dreary.

          Dreadful.

Dark grey sky verging on very dark grey sky.

          Raining. A lot.

          22.5 deg in here.

          1002.5 mBar, 29.6 in Hg, 65% RH.

          Wednesday.

Abbreviated walk walked, cunningly avoiding the deluge that began just as I returned, though there was a half hearted shower just as I reached the res.

Lunch: poached tomato and scrambled egg on Morrisons wholemeal sunflower and spelt toast, bramble jelly sandwich on same, red corner yog, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

          Entertainment: Car SOS: Subaru Imprezza.

Freecell score: 50%, running average 84%.

          Bit of Engineering Disasters.

          Freecell score: 93%, running average 84% (84.094%).

Entertainment: Engineering Disasters: Chicago tunnels flood or what happens if you put piles too close to a tunnel; sheer punch failure in construction, and what happens if you build a building on a landfill and then add another two stories and 10 tons of aircon to the roof. Ooops.

Trucking hell S3 E8: Rory! Dismantling (or flatpacking) a curtain sided trailer though with some problems with the Oxyacetylene gas cutter.

          Tez got it sorted.

Tea: the remains of the roast beef with carrots & onions, some sliced peaches, a yog or two, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Entertainment: Discovering Alain Delon, which, aside from a couple of films with Mr Bronson, is of little innerest all in all.

          Abandoned Engineering on Yesterday: https://archaeology-travel.com/engla...ages-of-d-day/

Don't trust the lying bastards in the MOD War Department or Churchill.

A thing on BBC Scotland about the chinook crash on the Mull.

          Elementary S6 E4.

Dr Pimplepopper (repeat with added pustulent goodness).

Dangerous Minds (1995) with that Michelle Pfeiffer.

          At 23:49 it's a mere 22.6 deg in here.

          It's almost arctic.

The rain forecast for this afternoon has commenced early. It's quite enthusiastic too.

                      Sausage roll for lunch

Apparently the end users have provided very positive feedback about the thing we built

The weather app has gone back to a 100% certainty that there'll be thunderstorms from 1300 onwards. Meanwhile, outside, the sun has just come out

Still a lot of cloud though, so we're in with a chance.

And I've just sorted out a Sainsbury's order for delivery some time tomorrow evening.
