Well, the lamb shank in red wine and redcurrant sauce turned out inordinately nice, accompanied by some homemade potato wedges out of the freezer and peas

The evening's televisual entertainment, such as it was, was confined to "Stargate (1994)" with that Kurt Russel chap.

I found it dragged a bit until the shooting started.
WTF was the Stargate for if there's a ship that does the same thing? When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

Tonight's major motion rewatch was The Hunger Games (2012). I still think it's much better than the young people who were, one presumes, the target audience have any right to expect; we never had these lavish production values when I was their age
And then S2E1 and E2 of Breaking Bad, as it's important to keep the momentum up.

Morning all if all there be
Dry.
Sunny.
The CBS visible through the gap in the living room curtains looks rather whiter than might be expected.
Maybe there's high cloud or sommat.
Slightly warmer at 18.6 deg.
The only series I've ever watched through again is "The Sarah Connor Chronicles".
The rewatch of "Breaking Bad" got stymied by something or other back in the day, probably parent related.
I rewatched the final ep again earlier this year.

In with the hoi polloi.
Forgot to look at the funny pictures which doesn't work in here for some net nanny reason.
Still sunny.
And remarkably warm.Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 21 September 2019, 09:14.When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

WTF was the Stargate for if there's a ship that does the same thing? There's nothing overtly bad about it, it's just a non-entity.
I found myself doing the ironing during this movie - that's how boring it is.
A film to do your ironing to.
In other other news, in one of the charity emporia down town there's a set of Royal Albert Old Country Roses tea service, of which I have 8 dinner plates, being left behind from the clearance of the Strangelove Parents' house.
I've just discovered that these are £20 each.
Since they're hideous I'm taking them down town shortly.

The ships take a lot longer, the stargate network is supposed to be nearly instantaneous. The 'ancients' designed and built the gates which were then used by the Goa'uld who designed the ships which are a bit flakey. All documented in the hundreds of episodes of stargate the series with the lovely Amanda Tapping and McGyver.
Agree its a bit slow but the special effects and storyline are genius.
Does that make me a Gateian?Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Comment
