I suppose, never happened to me <yet>

FB finds the most unlikely "people you may know" in places I wouldn't touch with a fecking bargepole.

FB's only good for keeping in touch with people who live far away IMO

      NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

The Super Monkey Car has been stolen!

The chap at the car fixing place just phoned. Normally he stores cars inside but, for some reason, he left two or three outside when he left yesterday. He went in today to move them inside, and the SMC had been stolen - CCTV shows two guys making off with it around half-four this morning

He's reported it stolen so now I'm waiting for the plod to get back to me

Oh, morning denizens BTW. Sunny out.

Once so far, I was dreaming about pissing in the toilet only to find out I wasn't in the toilet as I woke up.

Fortunately the bed didn't get wet.

It does sap your confidence though.

I'm beginning to wish The New Neighbours were a fecking sight further away than they are.

My mate warned me that it was A Bad Idea, how fecking right he was.

        Noooooooooooooooooooo!

I still remember the trauma of watching "The Choirboys (1977)"

        The Choirboys (1977) - IMDb

in The Castle Cinema in Swansea, only to come out and find the car gone.

It turned up a couple of days later having been used on some job or other, in a rather worse state of repair.

It didn't help that it was my dad's car.

It's a rather odd car to steal, a G reg Escort.

Might it be worth money as a classic?

          Orion

They have been going up in value a bit, but I think there's a fair likelihood it was joyriders or cheapskates helping themselves to a lift home - the garage is just off the main road out of town in the direction of two of the major outlying council estates. Not that one wishes to judge people by their social status, but both places are stuffed with the worst kinds of chavs, across all age ranges, and they could easily have spotted it parked there as they walked past after a night out and decided to nick it

And not difficult to nick, though slightly more difficult than an F reg (that's 1967) Ford Zodiac, which you could access without much requirement for any sort of key, such was the quality of the locks in those dear departed days beyond recall.

It might be worth you driving around some of those sink estates to see if you can spot it.

            Then again, probably not.

            My sincere condolences.

Having looked on ebay, it doesn't seem as if it would be worth a great deal.

Ta. No, probably not worth a huge amount

I was thinking of having a drive around as you suggest. New Parks springs immediately to mind as being in the right direction and containing more than its fair share of lowlifes.

Oh dear, how sad, never mind, the poor dear next door has hayfever and a cold and has retired to bed.

Any thoughts of lawn mowing are beyond the pale.

Okily dokily, I can feel a visit to Neath Argos with a lawn mower coming on for tomorrow.

Croissants with raspberry jam for lunch

I accidentally picked up the reduced fat ones in M&S. It seems to me that the idea of a more healthy croissant is mere foolishness; if you're going to eat an "all butter" pastry (or whatever they're categorised as) you might as well go all in. Anyway, they were OK.

Cue up the Aldi Lidl song.

Following last week's 2kW angle grinder, this week it's the 40" Sharp telly.

Deity alone knows why, but there you go.

Apparently this thing also has a built in satellite receiver according to the blurb, and there's an F socket on the back to boot*.

No idea why I wanted it but there you proverbially go.

Just watched The Voice of God on "Evan Almighty" on it for 15 minutes or so.

*It may well have a socket but the manual is from Barcelona & doesn't mention said socket at all.

Which is inneresting in a vaguely inneresting way.

Now having a FB discussion on the ins & outs of hayfever with the next door neighbour.

Just had somebody from the police on the phone. They're currently in a state of confusion as it's unclear whether the aggrieved party in the case is me as the owner, or the garage as custodian of the car at the time it was nicked

Anyway, it's now on the system as a stolen vehicle so it'll trigger ANPR cameras and such if it's still being driven around, and they'll recover it if it's found sitting around somewhere.

And they said the chap at the garage is going to contact his insurers on Tuesday to find out if he needs to claim or I do. I'm hoping it's him, as I can do without the hassle. At least I got the no claims discount protection last time I insured it, should it turn out to be me that has to do it
