Is that a "Non crime, racial harassment" charge? Instigated by the department of hurty feelings?

I find your statement very hurtful and feel that you have no consideration for the impact your post may have on my mental wellbeing.

As such I wish to make a formal complaint.

Tough read that. So she's still not won, she's won the right for some aspects to be re-heard which will be interested. Reading all that and now it's been proven in law that accents are racially connected I can't see how the University can win. There is a long paragraph in the middle where the judge talks about making a racial comment unknowingly still breaks the law. That's gonna be complex although I think there is more going on here and it doesn't say which bits EAT will hear.

I kind of get some off it, around making a racially insensitive comment by mistake can technically still constitute racial harassment. The label can be associated, yes, it's the reaction and outcome that worries me. It's a bit like taking a pad of post it notes that were on your desk home is technically theft. There isn't a criminal/HR investigation every time this happens. If someone does comment on a strong accent it could, technically, fall under racial harassment but doesn't meet the spirit of the rule to protect people from being treated badly so it could be dismissed if a complaint is put forward. I have a horrible feeling that because it's got the word race in it every occurrence could be pushed through to EAT and the companies can never win.

            Funny old world.

second/third generation sluffies of many ethnicities tend to have a slough accent its pretty hard to resist.

Saw Brazilian twang and thought it might be something more interesting.
