The Ukraine government does not have clean hands however; two wrongs don't make a right and currently Putin is off his rocker and has lost many of his friends. Nothing warrants an invasion. The invasion has gone wrong because Putin lied to his own solders many of whom do not want to fight their brothers in Ukraine. Putin now resorts to heavy weapons.

So many people are confused seeing Evil in Russia but from Russia's point of view they are defending their immediate territory the same way the US would do.

How is Russia invading a sovereign nation, Ukraine, a defence of Russian territory? Russia doesn't own Ukraine - it is a different country.

I think the majority of Russian people know this, they have family & friends in Ukraine, many speak both languages.

It would be as mental as England "invading" Scotland or Wales or vice versa.

Scary thing is if Mad Vlad feels backed into a corner what are his options? Can't see one of his cronies slotting him to avert WW3.

Patel said that family members UK who do not meet usual visa requirements would have them waived for 12 months following their arrival, and that all applications from Ukraine would be prioritised by officials.

There are quite a few younger generation Russians such as Tatiana Yumashev, (Boris Yeltsin's daughter) who have connexions to Putin and have come out anti-war. They have been ordered to remove their ant-war posts from Instagram. Liza Peskova (Putin's spokesman's daughter) was also ordered to delete her anti-war posts

Fair point, but wouldn't they be safe in a bolt hole closer to Ukraine, in Poland or Romania for example? Why does everyone want to come *here* ?

One reason is having family or friends here. Another reason is if they speak English but don't speak Polish.
