Taliban apparently entering Kabul right now. Makes you wonder what 20 years of training the Afghan troops and supplying weapons etc by Nato has achieved.

A little after the US withdrawal from Vietnam, and following the breakdown of a Sino-Soviet agreement, China invaded Vietnam from the North, while supporting the Kmher Rouge invasion from the West. The Viet-Cong systematically beat the crap out of both invading armies, thanks to the excellent training they'd received from the US.Originally posted by Paddy View Post

Simple. Bush was not going to attack Saudi Arabia, commercially or militarily, but he had to show the Merkins that he was not afraid to react to the 9-11 attacks. Equally Biden has made a massive cock-up that will ruin his presidency. A classic case of two wrongs failing to make a right.Originally posted by Andy2 View Post
No one knows why they went there in the first place. There is no oil and Osama ,who they went after was in Pakistan.
I guess primary goal was to make military contractors very rich.Blog? What blog...?

"Blinken said: “We were in Afghanistan for one overriding purpose – to deal with the folks who attacked us on 9/11.”
Maybe he should ask his boss who was VP for 8 years with Obama why that thinking did not apply back then or certainly after they nabbed Bin Laden.
