We never had 2 people within 48 hours getting it, the spread is clearly massive already, must have been fueled by Euro - especially Final.

Other half just got home. Seven out of the fourteen classes are isolating, three this week and the head is seeking guidance about closing the school. Problem is with no measures in place there is no indication of when it can open again. Guess it will be Sept in the new year now.Originally posted by AtW View Post2 Covid cases in the last 48 hours in our building, from 2 separate firms.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

Yes, it feels a little as if it is closing in. We had been very lucky I guess over the past year in rural W Sussex, but in the last week we had our first class at the kids' primary isolating, followed by a couple of teachers coming down with it and rumours of other locals in hospital with it. It is apparently rampant in a few small towns/villages very near us, as well.Originally posted by AtW View Post

Just listening to the radio.
A woman living near the testing site who works from home is getting pinged every week by the app...."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Obviously she is getting it from people visiting the site, but that means the app actually works, which personally I find it surprisingOriginally posted by SueEllen View PostJust listening to the radio. The problem is that it doesn't recognise that the people aren't visiting her house.Originally posted by AtW View Post

Is there a better solution? No, it's what we've got (it should have been made better over last 12 months).Originally posted by SueEllen View PostThe problem is that it doesn't recognise that the people aren't visiting her house.
Removing those "pings" would accelerate virus spread.Comment

There was an article in the papers today that said over 35% of people pinged go on to have symptoms. That seems extraordinarily high to me (esp with our vac rate), but if true it does suggest that the app is working, and working very well.Originally posted by AtW View Post
