Historically Northern France should be part of the UK anyway.

Any reason why you didn't post the full reasons they gave for the warning?

          Hard Brexit here we come.

According to police, about 130,000 people took part in the protest led by Korea Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) on Saturday.

The demonstrators, who had gathered in front of Seoul city hall, were chanting slogans in demand of the resignation of the president.

“We are gathered here today to criticize and denounce Park Geun-hye government's policies against the livelihood of the people and peace (on the Korean Peninsula) which have been carried out for the last three years,” protest leader, Han Sun-bum, said.

Liam knows best. He should know, he was a successful GP in the NHS.

...meanwhile in the real world where 80% of car exports go to the EU.

We are very concerned that the future state of the automotive industry and the success could be jeopardised if we are not in the single market.

Of course due to the softer currency our car exports are already cheaper. A tariff would just return them to their pre vote price.

On the other hand.....those nice German cars are already more expensive. A tariff on top of them would be a nightmare.

Tariffs are in no one's interest except the leaders of the federalisation project.

It's not quite so simple, many parts assembled into British car have to be imported, so they'll be paying tariffs twice over if they come in from other parts of the EU. If a Ford Mondeo is assembled in Coventry they pay a tariff on an exhaust pipe made in Belgium and then they there is a tariff to be paid when it is exported back to the EU. It will be much easier for German manufacturers as most of their parts will come in from other parts of the EU so they will only pay tariffs once.

You also have the complexity of ensuring your goods satisfy EU regulations so every part that is installed in a UK car for export to the EU will have to be documented, and of course all your goods will need to sit for days waiting to be cleared in customs. For British consumers, they'll find all the goods they buy will be more expensive whereas as Europeans will easily switch to alternative European manufactured cars.

A client of mine manufactures gearbox selector shafts for BMW, Ford, Landrover and others. Some of the selectors need parts machined in Switzerland. The steel comes from Germany, Therefore, some parts will start off in Germany, go to the UK, then to Switzerland, back to UK then to Germany. The MD said he cannot deal with the uncertainty of Brexit therefore he is already on the lookout for premises in Eastern Germany where the second advantage is that property is much cheaper than the UK .

Or we will switch to uk manufactured cars.

It's a two way market which is why tariffs make no sense except for the federalists to prove a point. They will cost europe hundreds of thousands of jobs.
