The people who control the levers of power in poor areas are socialists. There is no coincidence. likewise Scotland is largely socialist which is why it will remain a third world country. if it casts itself away from the Union it will no longer be able to sponge off London and the South east of England so it will get poorer. I suggest you stop whining and get on do as you are told or vote in an entrepreneurial government and get rid of welfare and public sector jobs. Then you will be an affluent nation and we English can sponge off you for a change.

Now if you - DA - mean within the UK, where successive Conservative governments and local authorities have actively gerrymandered their constituencies to remove those they see as "undesirable" it's hardly surprising.

Scottish votes in the referendum have exactly the same weight as English, Welsh and Northern Irish votes. If the UK votes to leave nobody has been forced into anything.

And yet all those places have their own identify, they are not mere statistical subsets of the UK. That's WHY the Scots got to vote on their own referendum and we didn't.

The reality is, if Scots vote strongly to stay and the UK votes to leave, the situation may be rather untenable.

75% of our laws are made in Brussels and our Traitor-in-Chief has to go cap in hand to the Germans, Poles et al just to change the DSS rules in our own country. It's all about sovereignty and anyone that is voting "Remain" has a touch of the Quislings about them in my book.

At the time of the Lisbon Treaty I actually wrote to Her Maj to say she had no right to assent to the giving away of powers that she'd sworn to protect. Needless to say I got some old waffle back that meant the square root of naff all.
