I don't know if average contractor wages track the overall market but this is how real wages have been in the UK since the GFC.

Finding things a little quiet this week. A lot of 'hybrid' (no) roles and quite a bit of Inside IR35 (also a no)

Frustratingly, any role advertised directly by a company doesn't post the salary which is as helpful as a chocolate fireguard.

Normally you can tell what they want to pay based on the number of years of experience suggested in the advert, or similar clues.

Contractor wages have remained fairly constant around 12.5k... Hope that helps.

Salary is crap and will be as crap as they can get away with.

But they will not think 50K is crap, instead think it is really good because the 40% tax bracket starts at that. And 60K is very generious because only the top 10% earn more than that in the UK.

A top 1% salary is £192k.

Nice but it doesn't make you rich.

Of course if your lifestyle is based on £35k it does look rich and that is the kind of division the right wing press tries to create.

It stops people asking questions about the truly rich.

That one is, I see lots at £800+ per day. Cherry picking really low rate ones and presenting that as the norm is rather disingenuous.
