  • My client is small enough that I have to make the determination still, so there is that.

    Plus previous years they can look at under the old rules.

    Plus the saving (supermarkets and holidays primarily) that counteracts the cost.

    It's still worth it for now....

  • I suppose that would make my heart sink slightly less than the offer of a 'panel interview' but the good old fashioned "informal chat about your hobbies and 5 mins about what the project wants to do and when can you start" will always be my favourite

    I was investigated, both on a personal level and a company level, at the same time. Not for IR35 but for income and company funds more generally. I had IPSE Plus protection, similar to QDOS in practicality.

    You can certainly be proactive and work with your agency to draw up a new contract that either replaces the existing one with a new end date, or an extension for the end.

    As has been mentioned, in the bad old days of presenteeism it was usually possible to get some stuff printed, have long meetings etc and wait this out.

    These days you may have to go unbilled until meaningful work kicks in, but I would still bill a quarter day for a meeting that happens...
