At one stroke, Brexit has turned the UK into a smallish (less than 4% of world GDP, much of that from foreign companies), aging (immigrants brought down the average age and bred faster), bankrupt (debt is more expensive as gilt yields rise) economy.
I think countries that export to the UK will simply look elsewhere
Like Italy or Portugal ?
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone
really? . How do you think countries that export to the UK will feel about that?
Probably in the same way that they thought about China during the 15 years of negotiations to get China on board.
It's unlikely isn't it that the UK will stop importing goods from "the world", however it is feasible that other countries may slap tariffs on UK goods in the other direction.
After all the world is a big place. The UK exports all it's goods to the world.
Mea Culpa. As if anyone would offer you an attractive Permie job!!
As you shiver miserably in your security hut it must seem inconceivable that there are people in this world sitting at home in their warm studies making shed-loads of money just by thinking.
Perhaps you should have worked harder at school?
Except, of course, you cannot polish a turd, eh?

And why would they "slap tariffs" on uK exports? So that you can proved right about something ?. You are desperately and pathetically trawling for negatives about Brexit. Having backed the wrong horse so far your ego clearly cannot take you having to admit you are wrong. You have not admitted to being wrong on any occasion.
Where else would the UK export to if it wasn't "to the world" ? Mars, Pluto or Uranus

It takes a consensus. There are enough countries that don't like us much who wouldn't lose anything by drawing it out - and aren't really in a position to be pressured by those who would. Bit of a risk.
Looks like the key Remnants have forgotten their meds today. The delusion is excessive even by their own standards.
The best that most of them can muster as an argument is that we will end up with some sort of middle-ground compromise that gives us some, but not all, of what might yet be negotiated.
Even if that "rosy" scenario comes to pass, it will still be a lot better than what Cameron managed to negotiate. And that being so, it vindicates the Leave vote even more.
