Can be rather exciting if there's any bombing practice in progress!Originally posted by Uncle Albert View Post
Having been there before I know not to have any expectations of what it's like. However, it works out a bit easier to end there rather than at Cape Wrath.

I wish I could say the same. I don't find IT dev or financial systems particularly stimulating, but certainly more tolerable than many other jobs and very very good for paying the bills!Originally posted by NotAllThereI don't plan to retire. My work has been my hobby for 40+ years. Except when I was in managment.

John O Groats is an absolute tulipe hole. Better start there and end somewhere else. It's a major disappointment when you arrive !

With you on this so hopefully can keep working, turning 60 very shortly. People ask why don't I retire suggesting I could be doing hobbies\what I want... well apart from not being in a position to retire my hobby is dicking about with computers, so might as well get paid for doing thatOriginally posted by NotAllThere

Nice. From where to where? I have vague plans to walk as much of the top of Scotland as is possible starting at Cape Wrath and ending at John O'Groats with detours along the way to visit old Clan Albert haunts.
